Little Giant heavy-duty welded steel shelving with 3-sided retaining lips ships fully assembled and ready to position, no field assembly required. Each shelf is constructed from 12-gauge reinforced steel and supports 2,000 pounds. Retaining lips measuring 1.5" high run along both sides and the back of each shelf, keeping items contained during storage and reducing the risk of materials shifting or falling from the sides or rear. The front edge is flush, allowing straightforward loading and unloading without obstruction.

Corner construction uses 2" x 2" x 3/16" angles. Footpads with 5/8" anchor holes are included for floor mounting when a fixed installation is required. The lower shelf has 3-1/2" of underclearance with boxed angles, which allows an empty pallet truck to be used for repositioning the unit.

Three shelf-count configurations are available, all at 72" high: 4-shelf units provide 20-3/4" of clearance between shelves; 5-shelf units provide 15"; and 6-shelf units provide 11-3/4". Depths range from 18" to 36". Widths range from 32" to 72".

Selecting the Right Configuration:

♦ Retaining lips vs. open shelving, the 3-sided retaining lip model provides 1.5" high lips on sides and back to contain items and prevent side or rear shifting. Choose this model when stored items are prone to movement, when the shelving is in a high-traffic area, or when side and rear containment is a safety or organizational requirement. Choose the open shelving version when unrestricted access from all sides is the priority.

♦ Shelf count and clearance, 4-shelf units provide 20-3/4" clearance for taller items; 5-shelf units provide 15" for most standard industrial parts; 6-shelf units provide 11-3/4" for the highest position count per unit with shorter items.

♦ Width, 32" to 72", match the width to the lateral span of the stored items and the available bay width in the installation area.

♦ Depth, 18" to 36", match depth to the front-to-back size of the stored items and the available floor footprint. Deeper units accommodate larger items and allow higher quantities per shelf position.

♦ Floor mounting, the 5/8" anchor holes in the footpads allow this unit to be bolted to the floor when a fixed installation is required for safety or compliance reasons.

♦ Pallet truck repositioning, the 3-1/2" underclearance on the lower shelf allows an empty pallet truck to be used for repositioning the unit without unloading it first. Verify the specific pallet truck forks clear this underclearance before attempting to reposition under load.
