If you need more pick faces and more vertical organization in a tight footprint, the Hallowell 5511-12 Hi-Tech Open Starter Unit is built for it. This is heavy-duty industrial shelving engineered for daily use over the long term without loosening, flexing, or losing structural integrity.
Each shelf is box-formed and reinforced with a tubular welded box beam at both the front and rear, delivering maximum strength where loads concentrate. Hallowell’s exclusive triple-bend side flanges add stiffness, reducing flex under heavy inventory, while lapped and welded corners keep the shelf rigid and square throughout the unit's life.
For organized storage, shelf tops are punched to accept shelf dividers, making it easier to separate parts, SKUs, and bins—especially useful for stockrooms, maintenance areas, and picking environments.
Setup stays efficient: each shelf installs using only four shelf clips, and shelves adjust independently on 1-1/2" centers, so you can fine-tune spacing for bins, cartons, and supplies as your storage needs change. The included beaded front posts are flush for straight-in/straight-out shelf installation and full use of shelf width, and the angle back posts are roll-formed for maximum strength (and can substitute for beaded posts if desired).
Use this starter unit to begin each row, then add add-on units to extend the run—clean, consistent, and cost-effective for larger installations.
