The Metro 2-Shelf SPN-Series Stainless Steel Wire Lab Cart is built from Type 304 stainless steel, making it well suited for corrosive and wet environments where chrome or zinc finishes would eventually break down. A positive placement system makes assembly straightforward and allows quick, tool-free shelf relocation as material needs change.

Each cart includes two stainless steel wire shelves with plastic split sleeves, two one-piece stainless steel handles, and donut bumpers. Five-inch polyurethane swivel casters are fitted with polymer caster horns and stainless steel axles, extending corrosion resistance throughout the mobility system, not just the frame and shelves. Super Erecta Shelf design keeps assembly and adjustment simple. The open wire construction reduces dust accumulation, improves visibility into stored materials, and increases air circulation. Five sizes are available, all sharing 2 shelves and a 900 lb capacity.

Stainless steel vs. chrome or bright finish: stainless steel is the appropriate choice for corrosive, wet, or washdown environments where chrome or zinc finishes would degrade over time. For dry, general-purpose use, the Metro SPN Series Chrome or Brite Finish carts offer the same functionality at a lower cost.

Stainless steel axles, unlike carts with standard steel axles under a stainless frame, extend corrosion resistance through the entire caster assembly, a meaningful advantage in continuously wet or chemically exposed environments.
