Rousseau Modular Drawer Shelving
Rousseau Shelving with Modular Drawers – Heavy-Duty, Customizable Storage with 400 lb Drawer Capacity
Rousseau modular drawer shelving combines open shelving with high-capacity drawers in a single system, creating organized storage for tools, dies, machine components, fasteners, and parts that need to be contained, quickly retrieved, and protected when not in use. Each drawer carries 400 pounds and extends fully on precision slides for complete, unobstructed access to all stored items. The modular design allows drawers of different heights to be mixed within the same unit alongside open shelf sections, adapting the configuration to the inventory being stored.
Heavy-gauge steel construction with powder-coat finish provides long-term durability in active industrial and shop environments. Interior organization options include dividers, partitions, foam inserts, and labeling systems. Optional locking is available to control access to valuable tooling, instruments, or controlled inventory. Units are compatible with the Rousseau Spider shelving system and are available in stationary or mobile configurations.
Six configurations cover three widths (36", 42", 48") and two depths (18", 24"). Select a configuration below or call 866-333-0728 to speak with a specialist about custom layouts.
Selecting the Right Configuration:
♦ Width, 36", 42", or 48", the three widths determine the inside usable width of each drawer and the overall footprint of the unit in the installation space. The 36"-wide configuration is the most compact and suits tight shop or tool room positions. The 42" and 48" configurations provide more interior drawer width for larger parts or components that need more lateral space.
♦ Depth, 18" or 24", the depth determines how far each drawer extends into the unit from the front face. An 18" depth suits most standard tool room and shop positions. A 24" depth provides additional storage volume per drawer for longer parts, larger components, or applications where more parts need to fit in fewer drawers.
♦ Drawer height and configuration, within each width and depth combination, individual drawer heights can be varied to accommodate the height of the parts being stored. Shallower drawers suit flat tooling, inserts, and gauges. Deeper drawers suit taller parts, fittings, and components. Rousseau's modular system allows the drawer configuration to be planned to match the actual inventory.
♦ Stationary vs. mobile, stationary units are anchored at a fixed wall or floor position. Mobile configurations add casters for repositioning within a shop or moving the storage unit to different work positions. Mobile units are appropriate when the storage needs to follow a mobile team or be repositioned between shifts.
♦ Dividers and interior organization: partitions and inserts organize drawer interiors so individual tools, parts, and components each have a defined position. This supports tool control programs, shadow boards, and organized parts management systems, in which every item has an assigned location and missing items are immediately visible.
Where Commonly Used:
♦ Tool Rooms and Precision Tool Storage, tool rooms managing large inventories of cutting tools, gauges, fixtures, and precision instruments use Rousseau modular drawer shelving for 400-pound capacity enclosed drawer storage that keeps each tool in its designated position, visible and protected when the drawer is opened.
♦ CNC and Machining Shop Toolholder and Insert Storage, machining shops storing toolholders, insert trays, collets, and tooling accessories alongside larger tooling use modular drawer shelving to organize the full tooling inventory in a single system with both drawers and shelf sections for different item types.
♦ Maintenance and MRO Parts Organization, maintenance departments storing heavy replacement parts, fasteners, fittings, and specialty tools in high-capacity drawers use the 400-pound drawer rating to hold dense, heavy items that would exceed the capacity of standard small-parts drawer systems.
♦ Aerospace and Defense Component Storage: aerospace and defense operations store dense, high-value components, instruments, and service kits in controlled drawer positions with optional locking. Use Rousseau modular drawer shelving for the combination of high capacity, 100% drawer extension, and interior organization that precision inventory management requires.
♦ Automotive Parts and Shop Supply Storage, automotive service departments, dealership parts rooms, and fabrication shops storing filters, hardware, diagnostic tools, and specialty parts use the modular drawer system to organize the full service parts inventory in a visible, accessible, and contained format.
