Handle-It Heavy Duty Guard Railing for Industrial Safety Barrier Systems

Handle-It heavy-duty guard railing components are the individual steel rails that span between guard rail columns to form complete safety barrier runs in industrial facilities. Each rail is 12" tall and available in nine lengths from 2' to 10', allowing custom guardrail configurations to be built to match any facility layout. Rails bolt to Handle-It guard rail columns (sold separately) to create a continuous barrier that separates forklift and vehicle traffic from pedestrian walkways, machinery zones, in-plant offices, pallet rack ends, and other protected areas.

Rail length refers to the center-to-center column spacing the rail is designed to span. The out-to-out dimension of each run section is the center-to-center measurement plus the column base plate overhang on each side (5" per side based on the 4-3/4" column plus plate). Selecting the Right Rail Length:

 ♦ Rail length is determined by the center-to-center spacing between columns in each section of the guardrail run. Match the GR model number to the planned column spacing in feet. For a single-rail run, order one rail per column span. For a double-rail run (using 43" double-rail columns), order two rails per column span -- one at each mounting height on the column.

 ♦ Mixing rail lengths within a run is acceptable when column spacing varies to accommodate doorways, aisle openings, or other fixed obstructions. Plan column positions first, then select the appropriate rail length for each span.

♦ Custom Guardrail Layout Construction: Facilities designing non-standard barrier configurations using individual columns and rails rather than pre-configured units, requiring specific rail lengths to match planned column spacing.

♦ Guardrail System Repair: Replacing individual damaged rails in existing Handle-It guardrail installations without replacing the full run or the supporting columns.

♦ System Expansion into New Areas: Extending an existing guardrail run into a newly designated protected zone by adding columns at planned intervals and specifying the appropriate rail length for each new span.

♦ Mixed-Length Aisle Configurations: Guardrail runs that must accommodate varying span lengths along their length due to doorway openings, aisle intersections, or structural obstructions that require shorter spans at specific points.
