Hallowell DuraTough all-welded industrial storage cabinets are built for industrial environments where cabinets endure heavy daily use and must maintain structural integrity, door alignment, and locking performance over years of service. All-welded construction eliminates the loosening and racking that develops in knock-down cabinets under repeated loading and access, and the reinforced doors and 3-point locking system provide consistent security through the life of the cabinet.

Two capacity tiers are available: the HW6 series at 1,050 pounds per shelf and the HW4 series at 1,450 pounds per shelf. Both series share the same dimensions and configuration options across the lineup. All models are 36" wide (in the 21"-deep series), with additional widths of 36", 48", and 60" available in the 24"-deep series. Heights span 42", 60", and 78". Extra shelves are available separately for each cabinet size and capacity tier, allowing the shelf count to be increased beyond the included configuration.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Capacity tier, HW6 (1,050 pounds per shelf) vs. HW4 (1,450 pounds per shelf): Select the HW6 tier for general industrial storage where loads are substantial but do not approach the limits of a 1,000-pound shelf. Select the HW4 tier for heavy tooling, dense parts, dies, or equipment where individual shelf loads are high, and the additional rated capacity provides a meaningful safety and longevity margin. The HW4 tier is also the appropriate selection where long-term shelf deflection under continuous heavy loading is a concern.

♦ Depth, 21" vs. 24": The 21"-deep models are available in 36" width across all three heights (42", 60", 78"). The 24"-deep models are available in 36", 48", and 60" widths at 60" and 78" heights. The 24" depth accommodates deeper dies, larger containers, and items that need additional front-to-back interior space.

♦ Width: The 36" wide cabinets fit standard wall runs and tight bay positions. The 48" wide cabinets provide more shelf surface per unit. The 60" wide models (HW6SC0478-4 and HW4SC0478-4) offer the largest single-cabinet footprint in the lineup, suited to applications where maximum shelf area in a locked format is the priority.

♦ Height, 42" vs. 60" vs. 78": The 42" tall models (2 adjustable + 1 fixed shelf) suit under-window and counter-height positions with overhead clearance constraints. The 60" tall models (3 adjustable + 1 fixed shelf) provide more vertical storage in a format shorter than a standard 78" cabinet. The 78" tall models (4 adjustable + 1 fixed shelf) provide full-height floor-standing storage for maximum organized capacity.

♦ Extra shelves (HW6SCS and HW4SCS series): Additional shelves can be ordered to increase the shelf count in any cabinet. Match the shelf model to the cabinet depth (61 suffix = 21" depth, 64 suffix = 24" depth, 84 suffix = 48" wide / 24" depth) and capacity tier (HW6 for 1,050-pound shelves, HW4 for 1,450-pound shelves).

♦ HWG4SC6178-4: This model shares the 36" x 21" x 78" dimensions and 1,450-pound shelf capacity of the HW4SC6178-4 but carries a different prefix. Verify with Hallowell documentation whether this indicates a different finish or option before ordering.
