Parent Metal Industrial Combination Storage Cabinet

Parent Metal Combination Storage Cabinet

Parent Metal All-Welded Combination Storage Cabinets

Parent Metal all-welded combination storage cabinets integrate two storage functions in a single welded steel unit: a wardrobe section on one side with a hat shelf at the top and a coat rod with two hooks below, and a shelving section on the other side with three adjustable shelves. A vertical partition divides the two sections. The whole cabinet is secured by a 3-point locking bar system and ships fully assembled.

This layout suits facilities where workers need a secure place for coats, uniforms, and PPE, alongside organized storage for tools, supplies, and equipment, all within a single locked cabinet footprint rather than separate lockers and storage cabinets. Two shelf capacity tiers are available: 200 pounds per shelf and 400 pounds per shelf. All models are 36" wide except the 427-C (48" wide). Heights are 72" and 78"; depths are 18" and 24".

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Shelf capacity, 200 vs. 400 pounds per shelf: The 200-pound models (172, 178, 272, 278) suit general tool storage, PPE, and supplies where individual items are relatively light. The 400-pound models (317, 327, 427) suit heavier tooling, dense parts, and equipment that would overload the standard 200-pound shelf. Both tiers use the same wardrobe section layout; the difference lies entirely in the construction of the shelving section.

♦ Height, 72" vs. 78": The 72" models (172-C and 272-C, 200-pound tier only) suit positions with lower overhead clearance or under-window installations. The 78" models provide a full-height floor-standing format for maximum organized capacity. Note: the 400-pound capacity tier is only available at 78" height.

♦ Depth, 18" vs. 24": The 18"-deep models minimize front-to-back footprint. The 24"-deep models provide more interior room for both the wardrobe section (accommodating bulkier coats and PPE) and the shelf section (accommodating deeper items). The 427-C is only available at 24" depth.

♦ Width, 36" vs. 48" (427-C): All models except the 427-C are 36" wide. The 427-C, at 48" wide, provides wider shelves and more coat rod length in the wardrobe section. It is the only 48"-wide model in the lineup, available only in 24" depth, 78" height, and 400-pound capacity.

♦ Combination cabinet vs. standard storage cabinet: The combination format trades one or two shelf positions (compared to the standard all-welded cabinet at the same dimensions) for the wardrobe section. If hanging storage is not needed, the standard Parent Metal all-welded cabinet offers more shelf positions while maintaining the same or higher capacity. If hanging storage IS needed, the combination eliminates the need for a separate personnel locker in the same footprint.

♦ 3-point locking bars: Consistent with the standard Parent Metal all-welded cabinet, both sections are secured by the same 3-point locking bar system at the top, center, and bottom of the door.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Maintenance Technician Stations: A single cabinet at the work position holding a technician's coveralls or work jacket on the coat rod and the hand tools and supplies for their daily tasks on the adjustable shelves, without requiring both a locker room assignment and a separate tool cabinet.

♦ Facilities and Janitorial Storage: Storing mops, brooms, and long-handled equipment by hanging them on the coat rod while keeping cleaning chemicals, supplies, and PPE on the shelves is a combined storage solution for a facilities worker's daily kit.

♦ Production and Assembly Positions: Operators issued smocks, vests, or specialized PPE that must be donned at the workstation can store their garments on the rod while keeping position-specific tools and consumables on the shelves in the same locked cabinet.

♦ Warehouse and Receiving Positions: Workers handling receiving, inspection, and putaway operations store high-visibility vests and safety gear on the rod and their hand tools, scanners, and supplies on the shelves, with a single locking cabinet covering both.

♦ Schools and Vocational Programs: Students or apprentices issued uniforms and tools at the start of a program keep both secured in a single assigned cabinet, reducing loss and simplifying end-of-program return procedures.

♦ Multi-Shift Environments: Where workers share a cabinet across shifts, the combination format helps differentiate personal gear (wardrobe section) from shared or shift-specific supplies (shelf section), reducing the mixing of items that occurs when all contents share an undivided cabinet.
