Pucel 304 Stainless Steel Storage Cabinet

Pucel Stainless Storage Cabinet

Pucel 304 Stainless Steel Storage Cabinets | 16-Gauge, Keyed Handle, Adjustable Shelves

Pucel 304 stainless steel storage cabinets bring the familiar Pucel HDSC shelf-and-door format to a Type 304 stainless steel enclosure for environments where painted carbon steel cabinets are not appropriate. The No. 4 finish provides a clean, uniform brushed appearance widely used in commercial and industrial stainless applications. The 16-gauge stainless construction resists corrosion from humidity, washdown procedures, cleaning agents, and chemical exposure that would degrade standard painted steel over time.

Inside, 1 fixed shelf and 3 adjustable shelves provide 4 total shelf positions, each rated for 500 pounds. The keyed locking handle uses the same mechanism as the carbon steel Pucel HDSC series. Both models are 36" wide and 78" high; the depth choice (18" or 24") is the only variable between them.

Models and Specifications:

♦ HDSC-SS-3678-18-4, 36" wide x 18" deep x 78" high. Type 304 stainless, No. 4 finish. 16-gauge construction. 1 fixed and 3 adjustable shelves. 500 pounds per shelf. Keyed locking handle.

♦ HDSC-SS-3678-24-4, 36" wide x 24" deep x 78" high. Type 304 stainless, No. 4 finish. 16-gauge construction. 1 fixed and 3 adjustable shelves. 500 pounds per shelf. Keyed locking handle.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Depth, 18" vs. 24", the 18"-deep model minimizes front-to-back footprint for positions with limited clearance or where a shallower cabinet suits the installation. The 24"-deep model provides more shelf space for larger containers, deeper bins, and equipment that needs more front-to-back room. All other specifications are identical between the two models.

♦ 304 stainless vs. carbon steel Pucel HDSC, the carbon steel Pucel HDSC series carries 1,500 pounds per shelf and is available in five heights (48" to 84") and two widths (36" and 48"). The stainless version supports 500 pounds per shelf and is available only in 36" wide by 78" high. The stainless cabinet is the appropriate selection when corrosion resistance, sanitation compliance, or a non-rusting surface is required. The carbon steel cabinet is appropriate when maximum load capacity or a wider range of sizes is needed, and stainless steel is not required.

♦ No. 4 finish: the brushed No. 4 finish is the standard commercial stainless finish used in food service, pharmaceutical, and industrial stainless applications. It is easy to wipe clean, does not show fingerprints as readily as a mirror finish, and is compatible with most sanitizing agents. This is the appropriate finish for washdown and high-sanitation environments.

♦ Type 304 stainless composition, Type 304 is the most widely used stainless steel alloy, with strong resistance to a wide range of common corrosive environments. It is not appropriate for environments with high chloride exposure (such as coastal saltwater environments or high-chloride chemical processes), where Type 316 stainless would be required. Verify the chemical environment before specifying Type 304 for highly corrosive applications.

♦ 500-pound shelf capacity, adequate for most lab supplies, cleaning chemicals, tools, medical equipment, and regulated supplies stored in stainless environments.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Laboratory and Research Storage: research labs that require corrosion-resistant, easy-to-sanitize storage for chemicals, samples, instruments, and supplies use stainless cabinets to meet cleanliness standards and eliminate the contamination risk of rust or paint flaking from standard steel cabinets.

♦ Food Processing Facilities: food processing environments that conduct routine washdowns with water and cleaning agents need cabinets that resist moisture and chemical exposure without degrading. The Type 304 stainless and No. 4 finish support both the sanitation protocol and the facility's hygienic appearance standards.

♦ Pharmaceutical and Biotech Facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, and quality control areas with strict contamination control requirements use stainless cabinets to store supplies, tools, and reference materials in a format compatible with regular sanitizing and inspection.

♦ Cleanrooms and Controlled Environments: In cleanroom environments where outgassing, rust particles, or paint flakes from standard steel cabinets would compromise air quality or product integrity, use stainless storage as the correct material specification for the environment.

♦ Healthcare and Sterile Processing Areas, healthcare facilities storing medical supplies, sterile instruments, and controlled items in environments that are regularly cleaned with disinfectants, benefit from the stainless surface that resists chemical attack and can be wiped down repeatedly without surface degradation.

♦ High-Humidity Industrial Areas, industrial positions in facilities with persistent high-humidity steam, condensation, or wet processes where painted steel cabinets would rust within their service life, benefit from stainless storage that maintains its surface integrity regardless of ambient moisture levels.
