Rousseau 48" R-Series Multi-Drawer Carts | High-Density Mobile Storage, 400 lb Drawers

The Rousseau 48" R-Series multi-drawer cart puts the high drawer count and mixed-height drawer configurations of the R5GH and R5DH multi-drawer series onto a mobile platform. Where the standard 48" R-Series cart (R5BH) tops out at 6 drawers, the multi-drawer carts on this page reach 7 to 14 drawers per cart, making them suited to operations where organized point-of-use storage needs to include a larger number of individual drawer positions than the standard mobile format provides.

Three series are represented. The R5GHE series is 24" deep. The R5GHG series is 27" deep and shares the same high-drawer-count configurations as the R5GHE. The R5DHG series is also 27" deep but offers different configurations: drawer counts from 7 to 10 with a greater emphasis on mid-depth and deep drawers (6" to 10"), plus drawer/door combination carts and a roll-out shelf model not available in the R5GHG lineup. All carts run on 6" polyurethane casters rated at 900 lb each with full-extension slides and 400 lb per drawer capacity. All are manufactured in North America.

Cart heights span four tiers: 37-1/2", 41-1/2", 45-1/2", and 47-1/4" (R5GHE only at the tallest height).

Selecting the Right Cart:

♦ Depth, 24" (R5GHE) vs. 27" (R5GHG and R5DHG): The 24" depth keeps the cart footprint slightly shorter for tighter aisle positions. The 27" depth provides more drawer interior space for longer tools and larger items. The R5DHG series is exclusively 27" deep and includes specialized configurations not available in either of the other two depth options.

♦ R5GHE / R5GHG high-count drawer configurations: These two series prioritize drawer count with configurations reaching 9 to 14 drawers per cart, using a concentration of 3", 4", and 5" drawer heights alongside occasional deeper positions. They are suited to high-density, organized storage of small tools, inserts, gauges, and labeled parts, where the number of distinct organized positions per cart matters more than the maximum per-drawer depth.

♦ R5DHG specialized configurations: This series offers a different balance. Deep-drawer configurations (R5DHG-3011/3012 with five 6" and two 7" and one 8", or R5DHG-3013/3014 with one 8" and two 9" and one 5" and three 7") suit operations where items are mid-to-large in size and fewer but deeper organized positions are needed. Roll-out shelf models (R5DHG-3009/3010) add a pull-out work surface alongside drawers. Drawer/door combination models (R5DHG-3008, R5DHG-3803/3804, R5DHG-3801/3802) combine drawers with an enclosed door section for mixed storage in a single mobile unit.

♦ Cart height: The 37-1/2" height covers the broadest range of configurations across all three series and is the most common selection for standard aisle-height mobile use. The 41-1/2" height (R5GHE/G-3403 through 3406 series) adds one to two drawer positions over the 37-1/2" carts. The 45-1/2" tall carts provide the highest drawer counts and the most configuration variety, including 10 to 13 drawers across both the R5GH and R5DH series. The 47-1/4" height is available only in the R5GHE-3801/3802 24"-deep format, with the tallest cart in this series reaching 14 drawers.

♦ Partitions: Models marked "Yes" include drawer divider partitions. Models marked "No" have open interiors.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ High-Count Tool Crib Dispensing: Issuing a large number of distinct tool types or insert varieties from a mobile cart that moves to the job location, with each drawer position holding a specific item category and the 48" width providing enough drawer interior to store tools flat and organized.

♦ CNC and Machining Setup with Large Insert Inventories: Rolling a cart stocked with all inserts, toolholders, gauges, and setup tools for a specific program to the machine, with a high drawer count ensuring each insert grade or geometry has a dedicated labeled position rather than sharing space.

♦ Maintenance Operations with Broad Part Variety: MRO maintenance carts carrying a full range of spare parts, from small fasteners and electrical components in 3" drawers to heavier mechanical parts in 8" to 10" drawers, organized across a single mobile unit that moves to the equipment being serviced.

♦ Aerospace and Defense Program Kitting: Program-specific mobile kits where each drawer position is assigned to a specific component, tool, or instrument for the program, and the high drawer count per cart keeps the full kit consolidated and accountable as it moves between workstations.

♦ Assembly Support with High Part Number Count: Staging an assembly kit with a large number of distinct fastener types, sub-assemblies, and components in a mobile cart that rolls to the assembly position and remains there until the order is complete, with each part number in its own labeled drawer.

♦ Quality and Inspection with Multiple Gauge Types: Transporting a full inspection kit including multiple gauge types, calibration references, and measuring instruments between measurement points and CMM stations, with each instrument in its own organized position in a 48"-wide mobile cart.
