Rousseau 60" R-Series Modular Multi-Drawer Cabinets – Extra-Wide, Heavy-Duty Storage with 400 lb Capacity Per Drawer  

The Rousseau 60" R-Series multi-drawer cabinets combine the widest standard R-Series format with high drawer counts and mixed drawer height configurations, the largest and most versatile option in the R5KK lineup. While the standard 60" R-Series (R5AK) offers up to 11 drawers with an emphasis on deeper storage per position, the R5KK multi-drawer series increases the drawer count to 20 while maintaining the 60" width and 400 lb per drawer capacity. The result is a cabinet suited to operations where the inventory is both large in quantity and varied in physical size.

Drawer height combinations across this series are deliberately mixed: a single 60"-tall cabinet might include 3", 4", 5", 6", 8", and 12" drawers in the same unit, making it practical for storing a full tool room's worth of inventory types without sorting them across multiple cabinets. Each drawer operates on full-extension slides. Cabinets are manufactured in North America.

Two depths are available -- 24" (R5KKE series) and 27" (R5KKG series) -- across heights from 32" to 60". Most configurations are available with or without partitions.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Depth -- 24" (R5KKE) vs. 27" (R5KKG): The 24" depth is suited to tighter floor positions or where front-to-back clearance is limited. The 27" depth adds interior drawer depth for longer tools and larger components. The R5KKG 27" series includes additional 46" height configurations (R5KKG-4405 through R5KKG-4408) not available in the 24" depth lineup at that height.

♦ Cabinet height and drawer count: The 32" height provides 8 drawers in a compact footprint suited to under-bench or tight-aisle positions. The 36" height steps up to 10 to 11 drawers. The 40" height reaches 10 to 12 drawers with broader drawer height variety. The 46" height offers 10 to 18 drawers -- the widest drawer count range at any single height in this series, driven by the 18-drawer R5KKE/G-4403/4404 configuration using a high proportion of 3" drawers. The 60" models top out at 12 to 20 drawers and offer the broadest drawer height variety per cabinet.

♦ High-density configurations: The 18-drawer R5KKE/G-4403/4404 at 46" high and the 20-drawer R5KKE/G-5817/5818 at 60" high represent the upper end of storage density in this series. Both use a high proportion of 3" and 4" drawers suited to large quantities of small items -- inserts, bits, fasteners, gauges, labeled sub-assemblies -- organized into dedicated, individually accessible positions.

♦ Mixed-height configurations: The 12-drawer 60" models (R5KKE/G-5819/5820) and 18-drawer 60" models (R5KKE/G-5813/5814) combine shallow 3" and 4" drawers with deep 12" drawers in a single cabinet. This suits facilities that need both high-count small-parts organization and heavy-fixture storage within the same unit.

♦ Partitions: Models with "Yes" include drawer divider partitions. Models with "No" have open drawer interiors.

Where Commonly Used:

Operations that benefit most from this series are those where no single drawer-height configuration covers the full range of stored inventory, and where floor space constraints prevent the use of multiple narrower or shorter cabinets.

♦ Large-Scale Tool Cribs: Centralized storage of a complete tool room inventory, including inserts, hand tools, gauges, fixture sets, and heavy tooling, within a small number of 60"-wide high-drawer-count units that reduce the cabinet footprint while increasing organized storage positions.

♦ High-Volume Production Facilities: Adjacent-to-line parts and tooling storage in high-throughput environments where fast, organized access to a large number of part numbers and tool types per workstation reduces setup time and search time.

♦ Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing: Program-specific cabinet configurations in which each drawer position holds a designated tool type, insert, or component, and the drawer count per cabinet must accommodate a large and varied program kit in a single, organized unit.

♦ Maintenance Departments with Broad Part Variety: MRO storage for facilities stocking a wide range of spare parts -- from small fittings and electrical components to heavy mechanical parts -- across a single high-drawer-count 60" cabinet rather than sorting by size across multiple units.

♦ Die Shops and Precision Manufacturing: Side-by-side organized storage of large die components, precision instruments, toolholders, and small consumables within a single cabinet footprint that uses the 60" width to accommodate oversize items flat and the high drawer count to keep small items separated and identified.
