The Rousseau L-Series 28" High modular drawer cabinet gives the L-Series compact format more room to work with. The footprint stays the same 18" wide, same two depths (21" and 27"), same 100 lb per drawer capacity with full-extension slides but the added 4" of height compared to the 24" L-Compact series opens up drawer configurations that wouldn't otherwise fit: two 12" drawers, six-drawer layouts with four 3" drawers, and four-drawer configurations that pair shallow drawers with a deep 12" position in a single unit.

The 28" series also introduces two formats not available in the 24" line: a drawer/door combination unit with one 6" drawer above an enclosed door section, and a pure double-door unit with one interior shelf. Both match the 18" wide x 28" high profile, making them useful companions in a continuous storage run alongside the drawer-only models. All units are manufactured in North America with concealed fasteners. Two depths are available: 21" (L3ABD series) and 27" (L3ABG series).

Selecting the Right Unit:

♦ Depth -- 21" (L3ABD) vs. 27" (L3ABG): The 21" depth fits tighter positions with limited front-to-back clearance -- under a bench, against a wall, or in a narrow work cell. The 27" depth adds interior space for longer tools or items that need more front-to-back clearance. Both depths share the same drawer configurations across the lineup.

♦ Two-drawer units (L3ABD/G-2809/2810): Two 12" drawers. Best for items that are tall, bulky, or irregularly shaped and need maximum vertical clearance within a drawer, such as larger tools, bagged fastener kits, or folded documents and binders.

♦ Three-drawer units: Available in two configurations. Three uniform 8" drawers (L3ABD/G-2803/2804) suit mid-size tools and components where consistent drawer height simplifies organization. Two 6" drawers over one 12" drawer (L3ABD/G-2811/2812) suit mixed storage where most items fit a 6" drawer but at least one category needs deeper clearance.

♦ Four-drawer units: The widest range of configurations in this series, covering combinations from all-shallow to mixed shallow-and-deep. Options include two 3" and one 6" and one 12" (L3ABD/G-2807/2808), one 3" and one 4" and one 5" and one 12" (L3ABD/G-2819/2820), and two 5" and one 6" and one 8" (L3ABD/G-2835/2836). Select based on the range of item heights in the intended inventory. The 27"-deep L3ABG-2801/2802 (four uniform 6" drawers) is also in this group.

♦ Six-drawer units (L3ABD/G-2821/2822): Four 3" drawers over two 6" drawers. The highest drawer count in this series, suited to small-parts storage, precision instruments, and tool sets where maximum individual drawer positions per cabinet footprint is the priority.

♦ Drawer/door combination units (L3ABD/G-2829/2830): One 6" drawer in the upper position, one enclosed door section below. Suited to positions where most stored items fit a standard drawer but at least one category -- larger equipment, binders, or bulky parts -- needs enclosed shelf space in the same 18" footprint.

♦ Double-door enclosed units (L3ABD/G-2828): Two doors, one interior shelf, no drawers. A companion storage unit in the same 18" x 28" format, positioned alongside drawer cabinets to handle items that don't fit in standard drawers, keeping the full run at a consistent height.

♦ Partitions: Drawer models marked "Yes" include divider partitions. Models marked "No" have open interiors. Door-section models do not carry a partition designation.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Under-Bench Drawer Storage: The 28" height clears most workbench structures and allows the full cabinet to slide underneath, adding organized drawer storage at existing workstations without modifying the bench.

♦ Compact Work Cell Storage: Tight-clearance storage alongside machines, at the end of assembly cells, and in service bays where a standard cabinet is too wide or too tall for the available position.

♦ Modular Low-Profile Storage Runs: Combining drawer units, drawer/door units, and double-door enclosed units side by side along a wall or beneath a counter to create organized, consistent-height storage across a full range of item types.

♦ Tool and Parts Storage at Secondary Positions: A secondary organized storage location at a machine or workstation for the day-to-day working set of the tools and parts used most frequently, while primary storage is located elsewhere.

♦ Lab and Technical Environments: Organized instrument, gauge, and calibration tool storage at technical workstations where the 100 lb drawer capacity is adequate, and the compact footprint avoids consuming limited bench or floor space.

♦ Training and Vocational Facilities: Individual student tool storage at trade and technical training workstations, where the 28" series provides more drawer options per unit than the 24" L-Compact while maintaining the same economical compact format.
