Strong Hold Double Shift Stainless Lab Cabinet Lockable Storage

Strong Hold Double Shift Stainless Lab Cabinet

Strong Hold Stainless Steel Double Shift Cabinets with Drawers | Independently Locking, 12-Gauge Stainless

Strong Hold stainless steel double shift cabinets with drawers bring the two-user, independently locking double-shift format to 12-gauge stainless steel construction for labs, pharmaceutical facilities, food processing plants, and high-humidity industrial environments where painted steel is not appropriate. A full internal partition divides the cabinet into two completely independent zones, each with its own 3-point locking handle and padlock hasp, its own set of drawers rated at 400 pounds each, and its own adjustable shelves rated at 825 pounds per shelf.

Both sides lock and unlock independently. One side can be accessed while the other remains secured. Five drawer/shelf configurations span 6 to 16 total drawers (3 to 8 per side) and 2 to 6 total shelves, across two widths: 60" and 72". All models are 72" nominal height (78" OAH with 6" 7-gauge welded legs) and 24" deep. Ships fully assembled.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Width, 60" vs. 72", the 60"-wide models provide 30" of interior width per side. The 72"-wide models provide 36" per side, with more lateral space for both drawers and shelves. Both widths are available across all five drawer/shelf configurations.

♦ Drawer count per configuration: the 6-drawer models (6DB) provide 3 drawers per side with 3 shelves per side, the most shelf-forward configuration. The 8-drawer models (8DB) provide 4 drawers and 3 shelves per side. The 10-drawer models (10DB) provide 5 drawers and 3 shelves per side. The 14-drawer models (14DB) provide 7 drawers and 2 shelves per side. The 16-drawer models (16DB) provide 8 drawers per side with 1 shelf per side (verify the 72"-wide 16DB shelf count with

♦ Shelf capacity at 825 pounds each, the stainless double-shift cabinet shelves carry 825 pounds per shelf, lower than the carbon steel double-shift drawer cabinet (1,800 pounds per shelf). This capacity is adequate for most lab instruments, tools, and supplies, but should be verified against the actual loaded weight before ordering for applications with heavy equipment.

♦ 400-pound drawers, consistent with the carbon steel Strong Hold drawer lineup. Handles dense hand tools, heavy parts kits, and lab instruments without the drawer sagging or failing to close fully.

♦ Independent locking per side, the defining feature of the double-shift format. Each side has its own 3-point lock, and if a padlock is added, the padlock has two independent locking mechanisms per side. Neither side's lock is connected to the other. This makes the double-shift format the correct choice when two users, shifts, or departments must share a single floor position without sharing access to each other's contents.

♦ Stainless vs. carbon steel double-shift drawer cabinet: the carbon steel version carries 1,800 pounds per shelf (more than double the stainless version) and is priced substantially lower. Choose the stainless format when corrosion resistance, sanitation compliance, or resistance to washdown and chemical exposure is required. Choose the carbon steel format when maximum shelf capacity is the priority and stainless steel is not required.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Multi-Shift Laboratory Environments: labs operating two or more shifts use independently locking stainless cabinets at shared positions so each shift's instruments, reagents, and supplies stay secured and separate between shifts, with no commingling of contents across users.

♦ Pharmaceutical Production and Packaging, two-shift pharmaceutical operations requiring stainless storage for controlled materials, use the double-shift format to enforce shift-based access control and inventory accountability in a material-compliant stainless enclosure.

♦ Food Processing Maintenance Positions: maintenance departments in food processing facilities that share a cabinet between day and night maintenance technicians benefit from stainless construction that withstands washdowns and independent locking that keeps each technician's tool set secure and accountable.

♦ Biotech and Research Shared Workstations: research teams sharing a bench position across different users or projects use independently locking sides to keep each team's materials, samples, and instruments secure without requiring a separate cabinet for each user.

♦ Cleanroom Support and Gowning Areas: cleanroom environments where two teams or shifts share a support position use the stainless double-shift cabinet to maintain material compliance and sanitation protocol while providing independent access control for each shift's PPE, supplies, and consumables.
