Strong Hold Upright Tool Storage Cabinet

Strong Hold Upright Tool Storage Cabinet

Strong Hold Upright Tool Storage Cabinets | Pegboard Back Panel, 2 Shelves, Door-Mounted Bins

Strong Hold upright tool storage cabinets integrate three storage types in a single 12-gauge all-welded steel unit: a pegboard panel on the upper half of the back wall for hanging tools and keeping them visible and organized; two adjustable 14-gauge shelves in the lower section for large parts, tools, dies, and heavy components; and small polypropylene bins mounted on the inside of the cabinet doors for frequently accessed small parts and consumables.

The pegboard is the defining feature that separates this cabinet from the standard 4-shelf bin cabinet. Tools hung on the pegboard are visible at a glance when the doors are opened; the pegboard accepts standard hooks and accessories, and the "upright" name refers to the vertical hanging orientation of tools stored on the panel. The two shelves below carry up to 1,900 pounds per shelf on the 36"-wide model and 1,200 pounds per shelf on the 48"-wide model. Door-mounted bins hold 10 pounds each.

Models and Specifications:

♦ 46-BSPB-242, 48" wide x 24" deep x 72" high (78" OAH). Pegboard on the upper half of the back wall. 2 adjustable 14-gauge shelves. 1,200 pounds per shelf. Small bins on inside of doors, 4-1/8" W x 7-3/8" D x 3" H, 10 pounds each. 3-point locking with padlock hasp. 6" 7-gauge welded legs. 12-gauge all-welded steel.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Width and shelf capacity: the 36"-wide model carries 1,900 pounds per shelf; the 48"-wide model carries 1,200 pounds per shelf. Choose a width based on the available floor footprint, the number of tools and items to be hung on the pegboard panel, and the load requirements of the shelves.

♦ Pegboard panel for tool organization: the pegboard on the upper back wall accepts standard pegboard hooks, holders, and accessories, allowing tools to be hung in assigned positions where they are immediately visible and retrievable when the doors are opened. This is the appropriate format when the primary storage need is organized hanging tool storage combined with shelf storage below, rather than bins-only or shelves-only storage.

♦ Door-mounted bins for small parts: the small bins on the inside of the cabinet doors keep frequently accessed small parts, fasteners, fittings, and consumables at the front of the cabinet and accessible immediately when the doors open, without reaching into the shelves or pegboard.

♦ Two shelves for heavy or large items: the two adjustable 14-gauge shelves in the lower section handle large tools, dies, fixtures, and heavy components that cannot hang on a pegboard and are too bulky for bins. The high shelf capacity at the 36"-wide format allows dense heavy tooling to be stored without concern for shelf deflection.

♦ Anchoring recommendation: Strong Hold recommends anchoring this cabinet to the floor or wall. The 6" welded legs provide forklift mobility when needed, but the combination of heavy tools on shelves and items on the pegboard creates top-loading scenarios where anchoring adds stability. Plan the installation position with access to a floor or wall anchor point.

♦ Compared to a 4-shelf bin cabinet, the 4-shelf bin storage cabinet provides four shelves with hopper bins throughout and door-mounted bins, with no pegboard panel. The upright tool storage cabinet provides a pegboard panel for hanging tools, two shelves for heavy items, and door-mounted bins, but no hopper bins on the shelves. Choose the upright tool storage cabinet when hanging tool organization on a pegboard is needed. Choose the 4-shelf bin cabinet when organized hopper bin storage across all four shelves is the priority.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Maintenance Technician Tool Stations, maintenance workers who organize their hanging tool set on the pegboard panel -- wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and specialty tools each in their assigned hook position while storing heavy dies, fixtures, and spare parts on the shelves and keeping small consumables in the door bins at a single locked work position.

♦ Tool Crib Positions with Mixed Tool Types: tool crib configurations where some tools hang on pegboard hooks and others require shelf storage. Organize the complete tool set in a single cabinet, with hanging tools visible and shelf items secured below.

♦ Machinist and Toolmaker Stations, machinists who store precision tooling on the shelves and hang frequently used hand tools on the pegboard benefit from having both storage types in one locked unit at their position, with the door bins holding measuring consumables and small fasteners.

♦ Facilities Running 5S Tool Shadow Programs, the pegboard surface supports tool shadow boards -- where each tool has an outlined position on the pegboard within a locked, secure cabinet that enforces tool accountability while maintaining the visual management structure of the 5S system.

♦ Production Support Positions with Hanging and Shelf Storage: Production support workers who use a mix of hanging tools and heavy fixture or setup items at their position benefit from the combined pegboard and shelf format in a single locked footprint.
