Strong Hold Ventilated All-Welded Cabinet

Strong Hold Ventilated All-Welded Cabinet

Strong Hold Ventilated All-Welded Storage Cabinets | Perforated Doors, 12-Gauge Steel

Strong Hold ventilated all-welded storage cabinets bring the 12-gauge construction, 14-gauge adjustable shelves, 3-point locking, and 6" welded legs of the standard Strong Hold floor cabinet lineup to a perforated-door format. The ventilated door panels allow air to circulate through the cabinet interior while maintaining the locked steel enclosure and the heavy-duty shelf capacity for which the Strong Hold series is known. At up to 1,900 pounds per shelf on the 36"-wide models, this is the highest per-shelf capacity of any perforated or ventilated cabinet in the CustomMHS lineup.

The nine-model lineup is more varied in height than the standard Strong Hold floor series. Two counter-height models (36" and 42" nominal height, both 36" wide) provide ventilated storage at workbench height or for positions with low overhead clearance. Seven full-height models (60" and 72" nominal) span 36", 48", 60", and 72" widths. All models are 24" deep with shelves adjustable on 2" centers.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Width and shelf capacity: the 36"-wide models carry 1,900 pounds per shelf, the highest rating in this lineup. The 48"-wide models carry 1,200 pounds per shelf. The 60"-wide models carry 1,650 pounds per shelf. The 72"-wide model (66-VBS-244) carries 1,525 pounds per shelf. Width selection should account for both the footprint available at the installation position and the per-shelf load requirements of the stored items.

♦ Counter-height vs. full-height, the 33-VBS-242 (36" high nominal, approximately 42" OAH with legs) and 33.5-VBS-242 (42" high nominal, approximately 48" OAH) are the only counter-height ventilated cabinets in the Strong Hold lineup. Both are 36" wide and include 2 adjustable shelves. Choose counter-height when overhead clearance is limited, when a work surface on top of the cabinet is desirable, or when the storage position is below a counter or workbench. Choose full-height models for maximum shelf capacity per floor position.

♦ Height within full-height models, 60" nominal (66" OAH) vs. 72" nominal (78" OAH), the 60"-high models include 3 shelves and suit positions with moderate overhead clearance or where a slightly lower cabinet height is preferred. The 72"-high models include 4 shelves. The additional shelf position in the taller model is the primary functional advantage for most applications.

♦ Shelves on 2" centers, the 2" adjustment increment is finer than the 3-1/2" increment on the Little Giant high-visibility cabinet and the 4" increment on the Pucel perforated series. This allows shelf heights to be set more precisely relative to stored item heights, reducing wasted vertical space within each zone.

♦ Ventilated Strong Hold vs. Pucel perforated, the Pucel HDSC-Perf series carries 1,500 pounds per shelf across all widths and is available in five heights from 48" to 84", up to 48" wide. The Strong Hold ventilated series carries up to 1,900 pounds per shelf on the 36"-wide models and extends to 72" wide, but does not offer heights below 36" or above 72" nominal. Choose the Pucel for a taller or mid-range height format. Choose the Strong Hold for the highest per-shelf capacity or for the 60" and 72"-wide formats not available in the Pucel perforated lineup.

♦ Ventilated Strong Hold vs. Hallowell DuraTough vented, the Hallowell vented cabinet provides three-sided ventilation (perforated doors, sides, and expanded metal back) at 1,450 pounds per shelf, in only 36" and 48" widths. The Strong Hold ventilated series provides door-only perforation at higher capacity in a wider range of widths. Choose the Hallowell for three-sided airflow in a narrower cabinet. Choose the Strong Hold for maximum per-shelf load or for widths beyond 48".

♦ 3-point locking with padlock hasp, consistent with the full Strong Hold floor cabinet lineup. The hasp allows an independent padlock to be added for dual-lock access control where required.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Heavy Tool and Machine Part Storage with Ventilation Requirements: Facilities storing dense tooling, heavy spare parts, and machine components that need airflow to manage condensation and humidity benefit from the 1,200 to 1,900-pound-per-shelf capacity of the ventilated Strong Hold series at the same construction standard as the solid-door lineup.

♦ Chemical and Solvent Supply Storage: certain industrial chemicals and solvents require ventilated storage per safety data sheet instructions. The Strong Hold ventilated cabinet provides a locked, perforated enclosure for supply control and vapor management. Verify with the applicable SDS that perforated door ventilation is appropriate for the specific materials to be used before use.

♦ PPE and Shared Gear Storage at Heavy-Duty Positions: maintenance and production workers storing heavier PPE items, composite-toe boots, face shields, chemical-resistant aprons, and arc flash gear -- benefit from the ventilated interior, which allows gear to air out between uses without the capacity limitations of lighter-duty ventilated cabinets.

♦ Counter-Height Workbench Companion Storage, the two counter-height models (33-VBS-242 and 33.5-VBS-242) suit positions alongside or under workbenches where a full-height ventilated cabinet would not fit, providing ventilated access-controlled storage at bench height for frequently used tools and supplies.

♦ High-Humidity Production Environments, foundries, processing plants, and facilities with elevated ambient humidity benefit from perforated storage at the Strong Hold capacity tier, allowing the cabinet interior to equalize with the surrounding environment rather than trapping elevated moisture inside a sealed steel enclosure.
