Rousseau 24" R-Series modular drawer cabinets are heavy-duty industrial storage cabinets built for tools, parts, and production inventory in manufacturing, maintenance, and shop environments. Each drawer is rated at 400 lb capacity and operates on full-extension slides, allowing full access to the drawer contents without tilting or reaching. Cabinets are manufactured in North America and built to withstand daily industrial use over the long term.

All models are 24" wide. Two depths are available: 21" (R5ACD series) and 27" (R5ACG series) in cabinet heights from 24" to 40". Drawer configurations range from 2 to 9 drawers per cabinet, with drawer heights from 3" to 12". Most configurations are available with or without partitions, and select models include a lower door section in addition to drawers.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Depth -- 21" (R5ACD) vs. 27" (R5ACG): The 21" deep cabinet has a smaller footprint and suits tighter workbench or aisle positions. The 27" deep cabinet provides more drawer interior depth for longer tools, larger parts trays, or items that benefit from additional front-to-back storage space. Both depths are 24" wide and share the same drawer height and height configurations.

♦ Cabinet height: Cabinet height determines the total number and combination of drawers available. Shorter cabinets (24" to 30") work well as standalone workbench-height units or as lower bases in a stacked modular system. Taller cabinets (32" to 40") provide more drawers per unit footprint and are suited for full-height floor storage.

♦ Drawer configuration: Select based on the types and sizes of items being stored. Shallow drawers (3" to 6" tall) are well-suited for small parts, fasteners, cutting tools, and gauges. Mid-depth drawers (8" to 10" tall) suit larger hand tools, meters, and boxed components. Deep drawers (12" tall) suit heavy or bulky items, stacked trays, or large tooling. Mixed-height configurations accommodate varied inventory in a single cabinet.

♦ Partitions: Models marked "Yes" in the partitions column include drawer divider partitions for organizing contents within each drawer. Models without partitions have open drawer interiors. If the intended inventory requires subdivided storage, select a partitioned model or verify that compatible aftermarket dividers are available for the open-drawer version.

♦ Door section: Several models (R5ACD-3007/3008, R5ACD-3803/3804, R5ACG-3803/3804) include a lower door section below the drawers, providing enclosed bulk storage at the base of the cabinet for larger or irregularly shaped items that don't fit in standard drawers.

♦ Toolrooms and Tool Cribs: Organized storage of cutting tools, measuring instruments, hand tools, and production tooling, with 400-lb drawer capacity that supports heavy tooling inventories without drawer sag or slide failure.

♦ Maintenance Departments: Storage of spare parts, electrical components, hardware, and maintenance supplies adjacent to the work area, using mixed-height drawer configurations to separate small fasteners from larger components.

♦ CNC and Machining Operations: Adjacent-to-machine storage of toolholders, inserts, collets, and setup tooling in configurations that keep each tool type in a dedicated, labeled drawer position.

♦ Assembly and Production Lines: Parts storage at assembly workstations using shallow-drawer cabinets to keep fasteners, sub-assemblies, and small components organized and immediately accessible at the point of use.

♦ Quality Control and Inspection Areas: Storage of gauges, fixtures, CMM tooling, and calibration equipment in drawer cabinets that protect precision instruments from surface damage and contamination.

♦ Modular Workbench Systems: Integration as base or upper cabinets in Rousseau modular workbench configurations, providing organized drawer storage directly beneath or alongside the work surface.
