Rousseau Mini-Racking is a purpose-built, high-density storage system for CNC toolholders and precision machining accessories. Each unit uses durable PVC tool racks that hold toolholders upright at a slight incline, preventing tools from falling out while protecting them from impact, corrosion, and molten metal spatter. The PVC surface promotes coolant drainage and minimizes direct metal-to-metal contact between stored tools. Full-width label holders on each level support tool identification and organized tool control.

Three shelf levels are configured specifically for collet-based toolholders. The platform is not compatible with straight shank tools without collets. The 75" height unit includes one steel decking level for additional bulk storage; the 87" height unit includes two steel decking levels.

Five tool interface types are available: Taper-40, Taper-50, HSK-50, HSK-63, and Kennametal-Mount (50-KM and 63-KM). Two widths (60" and 72"), two depths (18" and 24"), and two heights (75" and 87") combine across all interface types to produce 48 models. Tool capacity per unit ranges from 120 to 360 tools depending on interface type, width, and depth.

Selecting the Right Model:

Select by tool interface type first. The interface type must match the toolholder taper or mount standard used in your CNC machines. Mixing interface types within a single unit is not supported each unit is configured for a single interface type.

♦ Taper-40 (CAT40/BT40) stores the most tools per unit due to its smaller toolholder diameter. Taper-50 and the HSK and KM variants store fewer tools per unit on the same footprint due to the larger tool body diameter.

♦ Width and depth determine total unit capacity. The 72" wide, 24" deep configuration holds the most tools per unit in each interface series. The 18" deep models suit tighter footprint requirements where depth is constrained.

♦ Height selection depends on ceiling clearance and the amount of bulk decking storage needed alongside the toolholder levels. The 87" unit adds a second steel decking level above the three collet platforms.

♦ Job Shops with Mixed Tooling: Contract machining operations running multiple tool types and interface standards across different customer programs, using separate mini-racking units per interface type to maintain organized, program-specific tool storage.

♦ Toolholder Reconditioning and Inspection Areas: Staging areas where toolholders are cleaned, inspected, and returned to storage, requiring a protected, organized holding position that prevents re-contamination or accidental damage before tools return to service.
