Rousseau Mini-Racking High-Density CNC Tool Storage | 60" or 72" Wide, Up to 360 Tools

The Rousseau Mini-Racking system is a high-density CNC tool storage solution designed for machine shops managing large toolholder inventories. The system provides 3 PVC tool rack levels with platforms designed for tools that use collets, plus steel decking levels for supplemental bulk storage. The 75" high unit includes 1 steel decking level. The 87" high unit includes 2 steel decking levels. The tool count per unit is the same at both heights. The additional height adds bulk storage capacity, but not additional toolholder rack positions. Full-width label holders on each level support tool identification.

Important: the tool rack platforms are designed specifically for toolholders that use collets. They are not compatible with straight shank tools without collets.

PVC rack surfaces resist corrosion, impacts, and spatter from molten metal and promote coolant drainage. Tools are held at an angle to minimize contact between adjacent toolholders.

Two widths: 60" and 72". Two depths: 18" and 24". Two heights: 75" and 87". Six toolholder types. Tool capacity per unit ranges from 120 (Taper-50, 60"W x 18"D) to 360 (HSK-50 or KM-50, 72"W x 24" D). The Mini-Racking system provides significantly higher per-unit tool counts than the NCS shelving units (up to 96 tools) and NCM cabinets (up to 144 tools) due to the wider unit format.

Selection Guide:

♦ Toolholder interface type: Select the configuration for the toolholder standard used in your CNC machines. Taper-40 and Taper-50 suit V-flange (BT/CAT) toolholders. HSK-50 and HSK-63 suit hollow-shank taper toolholders. KM-50 and KM-63 are suitable for Kennametal KM toolholders. HSK-50 and KM-50 provide the highest per-unit capacity due to their smaller diameter.

♦ Collet compatibility requirement: the PVC tool rack platforms are designed for toolholders that use collets. Straight shank tools without collets are not compatible with this system. Verify that the toolholders to be stored use a collet before ordering.

♦ Width, 60" or 72", the 72" wide units hold approximately 20% more toolholders per level than the 60" wide units at the same depth and toolholder type. Choose 72" when maximizing tool count per unit is the priority. Choose 60" when floor or aisle width limits the installation.

♦ Depth: 18" or 24". The 24" deep units hold approximately 25% more toolholders per level than the 18" deep units at the same width and toolholder type. Choose 24" for the highest per-unit tool count. Choose 18" for a smaller floor footprint.

♦ Height, 75" or 87", tool count at the rack levels is identical at both heights. The 87" unit adds 2 steel decking levels for bulk storage, compared to 1 in the 75" unit. Choose 87" when the additional bulk storage capacity is needed, and the ceiling height allows.

♦ Mini-Racking vs. NCS shelving units: Mini-Racking provides significantly higher per-unit tool counts (up to 360 vs. 96 for NCS) in a wider format. Choose Mini-Racking when a large toolholder inventory needs to be consolidated into fewer units. Choose NCS when the narrower 30" or 36" unit width better fits the installation space.
