Rousseau 48" wide x 18" deep modular drawer shelving is the widest configuration in the 18"-deep series six more inches of lateral drawer space than the 42x18 and twelve more than the 36x18. All drawers carry 400 pounds and extend fully on precision slides. The 48" width suits tool rooms and shops where the widest tooling, widest tool trays, or the highest lateral count of items per drawer row requires the largest available drawer width at 18" depth.

Selecting the Right Configuration:

♦ 48x18 vs. 42x18, the 48" width provides six additional inches of lateral drawer space compared to the 42"-wide series. This is the correct selection when the 42"-wide drawer is too narrow for the stored tooling, tool tray, or item layout. The 48"-wide unit also takes up six more inches of installation space. Choose 48" wide when maximum lateral drawer space is required at 18" depth. Choose 42" wide when the wider footprint would crowd the installation position.

♦ 48x18 vs. 48x24, both are 48" wide. The 24"-deep version provides more front-to-back volume per drawer. Choose 48x18 when 18" of front-to-back drawer depth is adequate, and a shallower footprint is preferred. Choose 48x24 when front-to-back volume or longer parts require the additional depth.

♦ Drawer height configurations, five pre-configured layouts cover 3", 4", and 6" drawer heights. Shallower drawers suit flat tooling, insert trays, and gauges. The 6" drawers accommodate taller components. Mixed configurations provide both.

♦ Roll-out shelf option (R5SHC-754809 and R5SHC-874809), these configurations include (2) 3", (3) 4", (2) 6" drawers, and one roll-out shelf that slides out on its own rails.

♦ Height, 75" vs. 87", both heights are available for all five configurations. Choose based on available overhead clearance and total drawer count needed.

♦ Starter vs. add-on units: Order one starter unit per row. Add-on units share uprights with adjacent units and cannot stand alone.
