MFG Tray Fiberglass Hoppers | Chemical Resistant, Non-Rusting, Stackable

MFG Tray fiberglass hoppers are built for environments where plastic degrades from chemical exposure, and steel corrodes or contaminates food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical handling, and similar regulated or corrosive settings where material compatibility matters. The fiberglass construction resists a wide range of acids, alkalis, solvents, and moisture without degrading, rusting, or shedding particles. The smooth interior surface reduces material buildup and simplifies cleaning, an important characteristic in sanitation-critical applications.

Four models cover a range of sizes, from small, shallow trays to larger, deep hoppers. The hopper profile is trapezoidal; the top opening is wider than the bottom, which aids material flow and nest-stacking. Dimensions in the product table reflect the larger outside top measurement and the smaller inside bottom measurement. Sold individually.

Models and Specifications:

♦ 510108, outside top 10" L, 6" W, 2-7/8" H. Inside bottom 9" L, 5-1/2" W, 2-3/4" H. Fiberglass. Sold individually.

♦ 510208, outside top 19-3/4" L, 6" W, 2-7/8" H. Inside bottom 18-3/4" L, 5-1/2" W, 2-3/4" H. Fiberglass. Sold individually.

♦ 842008, outside top 24" L, 10" W, 8" H. Inside bottom 18-3/4" L, 8-1/8" W, 7-7/8" H. Fiberglass. Sold individually.

♦ 842308, outside top 24.1" L, 16.3" W, 8" H. Inside bottom 18.8" L, 11.6" W, 7.88" H. Fiberglass. Sold individually.

Selecting the Right Hopper:

♦ Size and application, the 510108 and 510208 are shallow at 2-7/8" high, suitable for parts tray, lab tray, or very shallow hopper applications where a low profile is needed. The 842008 and 842308 are 8" high and provide substantially more volume for bulk material handling, parts collection, and process flow applications. Choose the shallow models for tray-style use and the 8" high models for hopper-style material flow and collection.

♦ Width, the 510108 and 510208 are 6" wide, narrow trays suited to bench-level or tight-space use. The 842008 is 10" wide, and the 842308 is 16.3" wide, providing progressively more lateral capacity for larger material volumes or wider staging positions.

♦ Trapezoidal profile, all four models have a wider top opening than bottom interior -- the classic hopper taper. This shape aids in dumping material from the hopper (contents flow to the smaller bottom and funnel out) and allows the hoppers to nest inside each other when empty, reducing storage footprint.

♦ Fiberglass vs. plastic bins, standard plastic bins (AkroBins, Stak-N-Store, Kadon) resist mild chemicals but degrade under prolonged exposure to strong acids, alkalis, or organic solvents. Fiberglass resists a broader range of corrosive materials and is used where plastic would fail. Choose fiberglass when the stored material, the cleaning agent used on the bin, or the ambient environment would degrade plastic over the bin's expected service life.

♦ Fiberglass vs. stainless steel, stainless steel bins provide the highest resistance to physical impact and temperature extremes, but are heavier and more expensive. Fiberglass is lighter, easier to handle by hand, and offers comparable chemical resistance in most non-extreme applications. Choose stainless when temperature resistance or heavy impact is the primary requirement. Choose fiberglass when weight, chemical resistance, and lower cost are the priorities.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Chemical Processing and Handling: facilities handling acids, alkalis, solvents, and process chemicals use fiberglass hoppers for the collection, transfer, and staging of materials that would attack plastic bins and corrode steel, providing a chemical-compatible container with a lower weight than stainless steel.

♦ Food Processing Sanitation Areas: food processing facilities with frequent washdown using strong cleaning chemicals; use fiberglass hoppers that withstand cleaning agents and sanitation protocols without degrading, and whose smooth interior surfaces are easy to clean thoroughly between uses.

♦ Pharmaceutical and Biotech Manufacturing, pharmaceutical production and staging areas requiring non-reactive, easy-to-sanitize containers for process materials, samples, and components use fiberglass for its material compatibility and smooth, cleanable surface.

♦ Laboratory and Research Environments: labs handling corrosive reagents, solvents, and specialty chemicals use fiberglass trays and hoppers for secondary containment, material staging, and process support, where plastic would not withstand the chemical exposure.

♦ Plating and Surface Treatment Operations, electroplating and surface treatment shops handling acidic or caustic process baths use fiberglass hoppers for parts staging, rinse collection, and process flow between tanks, where plastic bins would fail quickly from chemical attack.
