Jamco BA-Series Slimline Flammable Safety Cabinets

Jamco BA-Series slimline flammable safety cabinets are the manual-close, single-door option in the Jamco narrow cabinet lineup, built for facilities that need compliant flammable liquid storage in a footprint that standard two-door cabinets cannot fit. At 23" wide across all three models, the BA-Series installs in tight maintenance bays, under bench positions, lab alcoves, and narrow service areas where the 34"-wide BM-Series starting width is not viable.

Double-wall steel construction limits heat transfer, flame-arrestor vents prevent ignition from external sources, and a built-in spill-containment sump captures leaks before they reach the floor. The 3-point locking handle secures the cabinet between uses. Manual-close doors require the user to close and latch after each access. OSHA and NFPA compliant.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ BA-Series vs. BJ-Series, the BA-Series and BJ-Series share the same 23"-wide slimline footprint and the same three-gallon capacities with identical dimensions. The BJ-Series adds a spring-loaded self-close mechanism and a fusible link thermal closure. The BA-Series is manual-close only, with no self-close or fusible link. The BA-Series is priced lower at the 18 and 24-gallon capacities. Choose the BA-Series when user discipline is consistent, and the lower cost is the priority. Choose the BJ-Series when automatic closure and the fusible link thermal safety feature are required. 

♦ Capacity, 12, 18, or 24 gallons, select based on the actual working volume of flammable liquids to be stored at the position. The BA12 (35" tall, 1 shelf) suits the smallest satellite storage volumes. The BA18 (44" tall, 2 shelves) suits a moderate working supply. The BA24 (65" tall, 3 shelves) provides the most organized shelf capacity in the slimline format.

♦ 23" width in context, the BA-Series is the narrowest flammable cabinet available from Jamco. The next wider format starts at 34" (BM and BS Series). Choose the 23"-wide slimline when the installation space falls between 23" and 33" of available width and compliant flammable storage is required.

♦ Manual-close doors: the user must actively close and latch the door after each cabinet access. This is appropriate for low-frequency access positions where the cabinet is deliberately opened and reliably closed between uses. For high-frequency access where doors may be left open between accesses, the BJ-Series self-close format is the appropriate alternative.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Tight Maintenance Bays and Service Areas, positions with available wall width between 23" and 33" that require compliant flammable liquid storage use the BA-Series where no standard two-door cabinet can be installed.

♦ Under-Counter Flammable Storage, the BA12 (35" tall) and BA18 (44" tall) fit under standard counter heights, providing compliant flammable storage beneath a work surface without requiring floor space outside the counter footprint.

♦ Lab and Test Area Satellite Storage, lab positions that store a small working quantity of flammable solvents at the bench use the BA-Series for compliant on-bench or under-bench storage of the working supply, with the larger inventory in a dedicated central flammable storage area.

♦ Paint Mixing and Solvent Stations, spray finishing and solvent mixing positions where a small daily working supply of thinners, reducers, or solvents needs to be kept secured and contained at the point of use in a footprint that accommodates the tight layout of the work cell.

♦ Production Floor Point-of-Use Storage, production cells that use flammable adhesives or process fluids in small quantities per shift store the shift's working supply in the BA-Series cabinet at the point of use, within the cell footprint, without requiring a full-width cabinet that would reduce cell workspace.
