MECO SCS3-36 Drop-in Cross Support Bars for 3" Structural Pallet Rack Beams

MECO SCS3-36 Drop-in Cross Support Bars are steel supports that drop into a pallet rack beam level. They add support points between beams to better carry uneven pallets and decking loads. This model is made for 3 inch structural load beams only, and it will not fit other beam sizes. Each bar is 36 inches deep, front to back, and rated for 5,000 pounds with evenly distributed loads. Because the bars drop in, you can reposition them as slotting and pallet styles change.

♦ Compatibility: 3-inch structural load beams only
♦ Capacity: 5,000 pounds each, evenly distributed loads

How It Will Help Your Operations

Drop-in cross supports can reduce interruptions caused by bent decking, unstable pallets, and beam damage. Better load support helps pallets sit flatter, improving consistency in fork entry and placement. In picking and replenishment zones, added support can reduce load rocking during frequent touches. You can place bars where your pallets need support, then adjust as inventory profiles change. Used within beam and rack capacity limits, this supports safer, more consistent day-to-day storage.  They are commonly placed to catch skids, partial pallets, or mixed SKU loads that create uneven contact points.

Using drop-in cross support bars makes a facility safer by stabilizing pallet loads and reducing stress on rack components. Weak or undersized pallets can sag between beams, increasing the risk of a tilted load during placement or retrieval. Cross supports add contact points under the pallet, helping the load sit flatter and stay level on the beam. They also reduce concentrated pressure on beam flanges, which lowers the risk of dents and damaged beams that can weaken a rack level. Under wire decking, added mid-span support helps limit deck deflection, reducing the chance of product shifting or falling. In high-traffic aisles, these improvements support more predictable pallet handling and fewer unsafe rack conditions.
