MECO Vertical Gas Cylinder Storage Cabinets | 13-Gauge Expanded Metal, Safety Yellow

MECO vertical gas cylinder storage cabinets provide organized, secure, and regulation-compliant storage for industrial gas cylinders in a safety yellow steel enclosure built by Modern Equipment Company. The 13-gauge expanded metal sides allow full airflow and visibility around the cylinders while maintaining the structural enclosure that keeps cylinders upright and protected from tipping and unauthorized access. The 12-gauge steel top and padlock-ready latch complete the enclosure.

Two cabinet sizes are available: the CSC1V stores 5 to 10 cylinders at 32-1/2" wide by 39" deep by 37" high, and the CSC2V stores 10 to 20 cylinders at 65" wide by 39" deep by 70" high. Both are available fully assembled (Ships Set Up) or knocked down for on-site assembly.

Models and Specifications:

♦ CSC1V-KD, 32-1/2" wide x 39" deep x 37" high. Stores 5 to 10 cylinders. 13-gauge expanded metal sides. 12-gauge steel top. Safety yellow finish. Padlock-ready latch. Ships knocked down for on-site assembly.

♦ CSC2V, 65" wide x 39" deep x 70" high. Stores 10 to 20 cylinders. 13-gauge expanded metal sides. 12-gauge steel top. Safety yellow finish. Padlock-ready latch. Ships fully assembled.

♦ CSC2V-KD, 65" wide x 39" deep x 70" high. Stores 10 to 20 cylinders. 13-gauge expanded metal sides. 12-gauge steel top. Safety yellow finish. Padlock-ready latch. Ships knocked down for on-site assembly.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Cylinder count, 5 to 10 vs. 10 to 20, the CSC1V handles smaller cylinder inventories in a compact 32-1/2"-wide footprint suited to maintenance rooms, service areas, and positions where space is limited. The CSC2V handles larger inventories at 65" wide and 70" tall appropriate for facilities that store a higher volume of cylinders at a central location or where multiple gas types are stored together.

♦ Assembled vs. knocked-down, the assembled versions ship ready to use immediately upon arrival with no on-site assembly required. The knocked-down versions ship flat for easier delivery through tight access points and reduced freight dimensions. On the CSC2V, the price difference between assembled and knocked-down is minimal, making the assembled version the practical choice for most buyers unless delivery access specifically requires flat-packed shipping.

♦ Expanded metal sides for airflow and visibility, the 13-gauge expanded metal sides allow air to circulate freely around stored cylinders, preventing vapor accumulation in the cabinet interior. The open mesh also allows supervisors and safety personnel to see at a glance how many cylinders are present and whether any are missing or mispositioned without opening the cabinet.

♦ Padlock-ready latch, the latch accepts a standard padlock for access control. A padlock is not included -- purchase separately. Choose a padlock rated for outdoor or industrial use if the cabinet will be placed in a covered outdoor area or in a high-humidity location.

♦ Safety yellow finish, the safety yellow color provides high-visibility identification of the cylinder storage location, consistent with industrial hazardous material storage color conventions. This aids in facility safety audits and emergency response.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Manufacturing Plant Maintenance Areas, maintenance departments that use multiple gas types for welding, cutting, and equipment operation store cylinders in the MECO cabinet at a defined, locked position rather than chaining them to walls or staging them in open areas.

♦ Welding and Fabrication Shops, shops storing acetylene, oxygen, argon, and mixed gas cylinders for daily welding operations, use the MECO cabinet to keep full and empty cylinders organized, separated, and secured between uses.

♦ Warehouses and Distribution Centers, facilities using propane-powered forklifts that stage propane cylinder exchanges at a central location, use the cabinet to keep spare cylinders secured, organized, and compliant with OSHA 1910.110 and NFPA 58 storage requirements for LP gas.

♦ Construction and Job Sites, general contractors and subcontractors who stage gas cylinders at active job sites use the covered outdoor-capable MECO cabinet to secure cylinders from theft, tip-over, and weather exposure between uses.

♦ Laboratories and Research Facilities: labs using compressed gas cylinders for instruments, gas chromatography, and specialty gas applications store cylinders in a secure, ventilated cabinet rather than relying on individual cylinder stands or unsecured floor staging.
