Handle-It Heavy Duty Guard Rail Columns for Industrial Guardrail Systems

Handle-It heavy-duty guardrail columns are steel support posts that anchor and support industrial guardrail runs. Each column is 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" steel with a base plate for secure floor mounting and pre-drilled anchor holes. Two heights are available: 18" for single-rail configurations and 43" for double-rail configurations, and each height is offered in three installation types: standard (inline run), corner (90-degree turn), and offset (wall-adjacent or stepped). Six models total.

Single rail columns (18" high):

♦ CS-1: Standard column -- inline run position -- 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 18" high
♦ CSC-1: Corner column -- 90-degree turn position -- 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 18" high
♦ CSO-1: Offset column -- wall-adjacent or angled position -- 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 18" high

Double rail columns (43" high):

♦ CS-2: Standard column -- inline run position -- 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 43" high
♦ CSC-2: Corner column -- 90-degree turn position -- 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 43" high
♦ CSO-2: Offset column -- wall-adjacent or angled position -- 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 43" high

Selecting the Right Column:

♦ Height: Match column height to the rail configuration. The 18" single-rail column pairs with single-height guardrail runs. The 43" double-rail column pairs with double-height guardrail runs. Do not mix heights within a continuous run.

♦ Standard (CS): Use for all straight inline positions along a guardrail run. This is the most commonly ordered type for extending a run across open aisle stretches.

♦ Corner (CSC): Use at 90-degree turns where a guardrail run changes direction. Corner columns have mounting geometry configured for perpendicular rail attachment on two faces.

♦ Offset (CSO): Use where the guardrail run must step away from or run parallel to a wall, column, or other fixed structure. Offset columns provide the clearance needed to mount rails without the post base plate conflicting with the wall face or floor obstruction.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Custom Guardrail Layouts: Facilities designing non-standard guardrail configurations -- irregular aisle shapes, angled approaches, or mixed-length runs -- that require individual column selection rather than pre-configured unit ordering.

♦ Aisle Corners and Intersections: CSC corner columns at points where pedestrian aisles or forklift lanes change direction, maintaining continuous rail protection through the turn without a gap in coverage.

♦ Wall-Adjacent Runs: CSO offset columns where guardrail must run close to a wall, building column, or rack upright, positioning the post to allow rail mounting without the base plate conflicting with the fixed structure.

♦ Guardrail Replacement and Repair: Replacing damaged individual columns in existing Handle-It guardrail installations without replacing the full run, using the appropriate column type to match the position being repaired.

♦ System Expansion: Adding columns at new positions when extending an existing guardrail run into a reconfigured aisle or newly protected zone.
