Jamco BS-Series self-close flammable safety cabinets use spring-loaded doors that close and latch automatically when released, eliminating the user-behavior gap that manual-close cabinets rely on. In active work environments where the cabinet is opened repeatedly during a shift and doors may otherwise be left open between accesses, the self-close mechanism ensures the cabinet is secured every time without relying on the user to close and latch the doors manually.

The construction matches the BM-Series throughout: double-wall steel, flame-arrester vents, spill-containment sump, 3-point locking, FM approval, and OSHA and NFPA compliance. Dimensions and shelf counts for each gallon capacity are the same as those of the BM-Series counterparts. The self-close mechanism is the only difference, reflected in a slightly higher price at each capacity.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Self-close vs. manual-close, the self-close mechanism eliminates the need for the user to actively close and latch the doors after each cabinet access. The spring-loaded doors return to the closed and latched position automatically when released. Choose the self-close BS-Series when the cabinet will be accessed frequently in a fast-moving environment where manual latching may be skipped under time pressure, or when facility policy or insurance requirements specify self-closing flammable storage. Choose the manual-close BM-Series when user discipline is consistent, and the lower cost is the priority.

The rated gallon capacity reflects the maximum storage volume permitted per OSHA 1910.106 and NFPA 30 for a single cabinet. Do not fill to the maximum rated capacity in routine use. Capacity options are 30, 44, 45, 60, and 90 gallons.

♦ Shelf count by capacity, the BS30 includes 1 adjustable shelf; the BS44 includes 3 adjustable shelves; the BS45, BS60, and BS90 each include 2 adjustable shelves. The BS44 offers the most shelf positions per gallon capacity, making it well-suited to organized storage of many smaller containers across multiple shelf levels.

♦ Cabinet dimensions by capacity, the BS30 is 43" wide x 18" deep x 44" tall. The BS44 is 34" wide x 18" deep x 65" tall. The BS45 is 43" wide x 18" deep x 65" tall. The BS60 is 34" wide x 34" deep x 65" tall. The BS90 is 43" wide x 34" deep x 65" tall. Choose based on the floor footprint available and the container sizes to be stored.
