Pucel Super Heavy Duty Storage Cabinet

Pucel Super Heavy Duty Storage Cabinet

Pucel Super Heavy Duty Industrial Storage Cabinets | 2,000 Pounds Per Shelf

Pucel Super Heavy Duty industrial storage cabinets carry 2,000 pounds per shelf, built from all-welded 12-gauge steel throughout. That is the highest shelf capacity rating of any welded storage cabinet in this lineup, exceeding the Jamco DS Series at 1,800 pounds per shelf and well above the 1,000-pound range of most other industrial cabinets on the site. The 12-gauge construction resists racking, door misalignment, and structural fatigue under maximum load conditions that would stress lighter-gauge alternatives.

Shelves adjust on 4" centers, providing flexibility to reconfigure the interior as storage needs change, and the cast handle locking system secures the contents against unauthorized access. All models are fully welded and ship-ready.

Four widths are available (36", 48", 60", and 72"), three heights (54", 66", and 78"), and most models are 24" deep. One exception: the 36" wide, 78" tall model is also offered at 20" deep (SXHDSC-3672-20-4) for positions where front-to-back clearance is a constraint.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Width: Four widths span the lineup. The 36" wide models suit standard wall positions and tight bay locations. The 48" models provide more shelf surface for operations that need wider, organized positions. The 60" models accommodate wider dies, large fixture sets, and items that would overhang or not fit cleanly on a 48" shelf. The 72" wide models (SXHDSC-7260-24-3 and SXHDSC-7272-24-4) provide the most shelf area per cabinet in the lineup, matching the width of the Rousseau 72" R-Series drawer carts and suited to applications where maximum lateral storage space in a locked cabinet is the priority.

♦ Height, 54" vs. 66" vs. 78": The 54" tall model (SXHDSC-3648-24-2) provides 2 shelves in a mid-height format suited to under-window positions and locations with overhead clearance constraints. The 66" tall models provide 3 shelves across three widths (36", 48", 60", 72"). The 78" tall models provide 4 shelves at all four widths and represent the primary full-height selection for maximum organized capacity per cabinet footprint.

♦ Depth, 20" vs. 24": The 24" depth is standard across the lineup. The 20" depth is available only on the SXHDSC-3672-20-4 (36" wide, 78" tall, 4 shelves) for positions where the standard 24" depth would cause clearance issues.

♦ 4" shelf adjustment centers: Shelves can be repositioned in 4" increments. This is less fine-grained than the 2" centers on some other cabinets but provides adequate flexibility for changing storage layouts as die sets, tooling configurations, or parts inventory evolves.

♦ 2,000 pounds per shelf: With up to four shelves at 2,000 pounds each, the maximum load per cabinet reaches 8,000 pounds for the 4-shelf models. Verify floor load capacity before deploying fully loaded 4-shelf cabinets on elevated floors or in areas with structural weight limits.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Die Storage and Press Room: Storing large and heavy production dies, stamping tooling, and forming tools where individual items can push 1,000 pounds or more per shelf position, in a locked cabinet where the 2,000-pound rating provides a genuine safety margin above the stored weight.

♦ Injection Mold Storage: Organized, locked storage for heavy injection molds where mold sets can weigh several hundred to over a thousand pounds each and where shelf deflection under continuous load is a structural concern at lower-rated capacities.

♦ Heavy Spare Parts and Mechanical Component Storage: Gearboxes, motors, hydraulic cylinders, and large fabricated assemblies in a cabinet with the structural capacity to hold them without bowing or shifting.

♦ Large-Format Maintenance Departments: A single locked cabinet capable of consolidating the heaviest tools, specialty equipment, and bulky spare parts for a maintenance department into one organized, accessible unit without requiring multiple lighter cabinets or open shelving.

♦ Toolroom and Tool Crib Storage: Heavy-gauge tooling, large wrenches, precision measuring equipment, and specialty fixtures in a maximum-rated locked cabinet where long-term structural integrity under continuous loading is required.

♦ Industrial Service Operations: Facilities servicing large machinery that require organized, accessible storage for heavy components and tools at service locations, where the 72" wide models provide enough shelf width to accommodate the widest items in the working inventory.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What makes the Pucel Super Heavy Duty Industrial Storage Cabinet different from standard heavy duty cabinets?
This cabinet is engineered for extreme loads, not just general industrial storage. With all welded 12 gauge steel construction and shelves rated up to 2,000 pounds each, it is built to handle dense and heavy materials. Standard cabinets often begin to bow or rack under this type of weight. This model is designed to stay rigid and aligned even when fully loaded.
What types of items is this cabinet built to store?
It is ideal for storing heavy tooling, dies, motors, fixtures, dense parts bins, and industrial components. These are items that quickly overwhelm lighter storage solutions. When failure is not an option, maximum load capacity becomes critical. This cabinet is built specifically for those high demand applications.
How does extreme shelf capacity improve operations?
When shelves can support up to 2,000 pounds each, teams can consolidate heavy inventory into a single secure location. That reduces clutter and eliminates the need for makeshift storage solutions. Strong shelves also prevent bowing that can damage parts or create unstable conditions. Reliable capacity supports safer and more efficient workflows.
How does the cabinet maintain long term structural integrity?
The all welded 12 gauge steel body resists racking, loosening, and misalignment over time. In high traffic environments, cabinets are often bumped or heavily accessed. A rigid frame ensures doors stay aligned and shelves remain level. This long term structural stability protects both the cabinet and its contents.
When is this cabinet the right choice for your facility?
It is a strong fit for maintenance departments, tool cribs, manufacturing plants, and warehouses handling dense or valuable inventory. If current cabinets are sagging, loosening, or failing under weight, an upgrade is necessary. This model provides lockable, controlled access with adjustable shelves for mixed size storage. It is built for facilities that need maximum strength and long term reliability.
Is the manufacturer’s warranty included with my purchase?
Yes. All products sold on CustomMHS.com include the original manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise noted. Custom MHS is an authorized dealer for the brands we carry, which means your purchase is covered by the manufacturer's full factory warranty.
