Rousseau 48” R-Series Modular Drawer Cart

The Rousseau 48" R-Series modular drawer cart is the widest mobile drawer format in the R-Series lineup, designed for operations where oversized tooling, complete fixture sets, large kits, and wide component assortments need to stay together and move together. A 48" drawer is wide enough to store most tooling flat without angling or splitting the kit across multiple positions, which directly reduces setup time and the risk of missing components when the cart reaches the work area.

The same 6" polyurethane casters (rated at 900 lb each) and 400 lb per drawer capacity that appear across the R-Series mobile lineup are standard on the 48" cart. Two depths are available: 24" (R5BHE) and 27" (R5BHG). All models are 37-1/2" tall. The lineup covers 5 to 6-drawer configurations plus a roll-out shelf option and a drawer/door combination format. All carts are manufactured in North America.

Selecting the Right Cart:

♦ Depth, 24" (R5BHE) vs. 27" (R5BHG): The 24" depth suits positions with tighter aisle clearance. The 27" depth provides more drawer interior for longer tools, wider trays, and items that benefit from additional front-to-back space. Both depths offer the same drawer configurations across the lineup.

♦ Five-drawer configurations: Three options are available. One each from 3" to 8" (3/4/5/6/8") provides a full spread of five distinct drawer heights suited to working sets where items range widely in size and each category benefits from a correctly matched position. Two 4" over three 6" provides a simpler two-height layout suited to inventories where most items are mid-size. Three 4" over one 6" over one 8" gives a slightly different mid-to-deep mix for tooling that trends toward mid-depth storage with one larger position.

♦ Six-drawer configurations: Two 3" over three 4" over one 8" provides six positions with a concentration of shallow drawers for small parts and inserts plus one deep base drawer for heavier or bulkier items.

♦ Roll-out shelf models (R5BHE-3015/3016, R5BHG not listed): One 3" drawer, three 6" drawers, and a roll-out shelf. The pull-out shelf creates a work surface at cart height for layout, staging, or inspection tasks alongside the stored inventory, eliminating the need for a separate bench at the work area.

♦ Drawer/door combination models (R5BHE-3013/3014, R5BHG-3013/3014): One 6" drawer above an enclosed door section. Suited to operations that need primarily enclosed mobile storage with one organized drawer position in the same 48"-wide footprint.

♦ Partitions: Models marked "Yes" include drawer divider partitions. Models marked "No" have open interiors.

♦ Large-Format Setup and Kitting: The 48" drawer interior is wide enough to keep complete setup kits, including long toolholders, wide fixture plates, and full insert assortments, organized in a single mobile unit that rolls to the machine and stays put through the full production run.

♦ Aerospace and Defense Work Centers: Program-specific tooling, inspection fixtures, and precision instruments are organized in a wide cart that keeps the complete program kit together and mobile between assembly and inspection positions.

♦ Heavy Maintenance and MRO: Large wrenches, specialty tools, and bulky spare parts are organized in an extra-wide cart that moves to the equipment being serviced and holds everything needed for the job, eliminating the need for a separate parts trolley.

♦ Die Shop Support: Moving wide dies, punches, and associated tooling between storage and presses in a cart with a drawer width to store items flat without stacking, reducing damage risk and improving retrieval speed.

♦ Tool Crib Mobile Dispensing: Issuing wide-format tooling to job locations in a secure, organized cart where the 48" drawer width accommodates large items that would require awkward handling or a separate transport solution in narrower cart formats.

♦ Production Assembly Support: Staging a complete wide-format kit at an assembly cell, where components span the full 48" drawer interior, and keeping them in a single organized position reduces picking errors and restaging time between orders.
