MFG Fiberglass Ventilation Trays: How Airflow-Optimized Trays Speed Drying, Cooling, and Processing

MFG fiberglass ventilation trays are open-grid or perforated fiberglass trays designed to support parts while allowing air, water, and heat to pass through freely. They are used in washing, rinsing, coating, drying, and cooling operations where parts need to be held in position without trapping moisture or restricting airflow around the load.

Fiberglass construction provides chemical resistance, dimensional stability, and temperature tolerance that plastic alternatives cannot match across the range of industrial processing environments where these trays are typically used. Trays resist the cleaning agents, coating chemicals, and temperature cycles common in metal fabrication, electronics, food processing, and medical device manufacturing.

Twelve models are available in three configuration types and footprints from 21-3/8" to 32-3/4" long. Prices are shown individually by manufacturer model number for straightforward competitor comparison.

Understanding the Three Configuration Types:

The Description column in the table identifies three distinct tray designs. Choosing the right configuration determines how trays interact with each other and with processing racks or conveyors.

♦ Drop Sides -- The long sides of the tray fold down or are recessed, allowing trays to be slid in and out of rack slots or conveyor guides from the side without lifting the full tray out. This speeds loading and unloading in high-cycle wash or processing racks.
♦ Drop Ends -- The short ends of the tray fold down or are recessed, allowing entry and exit from the end of a rack or conveyor lane. Used when the loading direction requires end access rather than side access.
♦ Drop Ends and Sides -- Both the ends and sides allow access, providing maximum flexibility for rack configurations where trays may be loaded or unloaded from multiple directions.
♦ Stacking Box with Drop Sides -- A deeper configuration with raised walls that allow the tray to stack on top of another tray while still permitting side access. The deeper wall provides more load containment than a flat tray while maintaining the drop-side access feature.

If you are unsure which configuration matches your rack, conveyor, or processing equipment, contact us at 866-333-0728 before ordering. Tray configurations are equipment-specific, and returning the wrong type adds unnecessary cost and delay.

Where MFG Ventilation Trays Are Most Commonly Used:

♦ Parts washing and rinsing -- Trays hold parts during aqueous or solvent wash cycles and allow wash solution to drain freely through the open tray floor, reducing cycle time and preventing pooling.
♦ Post-wash drying and cooling -- Parts placed on ventilation trays after washing or heat processing receive airflow from both below and above, reducing drying and cooling time compared to solid-surface staging.
♦ Coating and plating operations -- Parts can be loaded onto ventilation trays for immersion in coating or plating baths, then transferred directly to a drying or curing station without being rehandled.
♦ Cleanroom and laboratory processing -- Smooth fiberglass surfaces minimize particle generation and support cleanroom-compliant handling in semiconductor, medical device, and pharmaceutical processing.
♦ Food processing and bakery operations -- Ventilation trays in food environments allow airflow around products during cooling, proofing, and staging while resisting the moisture, food acids, and cleaning chemicals used in food production.
