Quantum Cross Stack Plastic Tubs

Quantum Cross Stack Tubs

Quantum Cross Stack Plastic Tubs – Durable, Stackable Solutions for Industrial Storage

Quantum Cross Stack Tubs are heavy-duty polypropylene containers that nest compactly when empty and cross-stack at 90 degrees when loaded. The cross-stack design allows a full tub to be placed at a right angle on top of another full tub, leaving an open gap on two sides that provides direct access to the contents of the lower container without removing the upper one. This is the key operational advantage over standard stack-only containers: you can see and reach into stacked containers without breaking down the stack.

All models hold 100 lbs, are FDA and USDA-approved for direct food contact, and are easy to clean with smooth polypropylene construction. Molded bottom holes allow drainage and airflow. Integrated ergonomic handles are molded into the end walls on all models. Available in gray, blue, and white.

Five models are available across three footprint sizes at 8" and 12" depth options. All are sold by carton of six. Prices are shown by manufacturer model number for straightforward competitor comparison.

How Cross Stacking Works:

When two tubs of the same footprint are stacked at 90 degrees to each other, the upper tub's length runs across the lower tub's width. This leaves the two long sides of the lower tub open and accessible from above. Operators can reach into the lower container to check contents, count inventory, or retrieve items without lifting the upper tub. When both containers are oriented in the same direction (standard stacking), the upper tub sits flush with the lower, and the contents below are inaccessible.

Cross stacking is particularly useful in food processing, healthcare, and distribution environments where containers are frequently checked or partially accessed without being fully unstacked.

Choosing the Right Model:

All five models share the same 100 lb capacity and cross-stack design. Select the footprint that fits your cart, shelf, rack, or conveyor, then choose 8" or 12" depth based on your load height.

Small Footprint -- 17-1/4" x 11" outside:
♦ TUB1711-8 -- 8" deep, 13"L x 7-1/2"W inside, 6 per carton.
♦ TUB1711-12 -- 12" deep, 12-5/8"L x 7"W inside, 6 per carton.

Standard Large Footprint -- 23-3/4" x 17-1/4" outside:
♦ TUB2417-8 -- 8" deep, 19-5/8"L x 13-3/4"W inside, 6 per carton.
♦ TUB2417-12 -- 12" deep, 18-7/8"L x 13-1/4"W inside, 6 per carton.

Wide Large Footprint -- 25-1/8" x 16" outside:
♦ TUB2516-8 -- 8-1/2" deep, 20-1/2"L x 11-3/8"W inside, 6 per carton.

Where Quantum Cross Stack Tubs Are Most Commonly Used:

♦ Food processing and food service -- FDA and USDA approval make these suitable for direct food contact in processing, storage, and distribution. Drainage holes support wet processing and cleaning. Easy-to-sanitize polypropylene construction holds up to repeated washdown.
♦ Healthcare and pharmaceutical distribution -- Cross-stacking allows medications, supplies, or instruments to be checked and accessed without disturbing the full stack, reducing handling time and the risk of containers being dropped during access.
♦ Produce and cold storage -- Drainage holes, ease of cleaning, and polypropylene's durability in cold environments make these practical for produce handling, refrigerated storage, and cold chain transport programs.
♦ Order picking and distribution -- Cross-stacking allows pickers to access partially filled lower tubs without breaking down a stack, improving throughput in operations where multiple tub layers are used simultaneously.
♦ Industrial parts and component storage -- 100 lb capacity and durable construction make these suitable for light industrial and manufacturing environments, as well as food and healthcare applications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are nest-only fiberglass containers used for?
Nest-only fiberglass containers are designed for industrial storage, transport, and material handling where durability and space-saving efficiency are important.
What does “nest-only” mean?
Nest-only containers are built to nest inside each other when empty, reducing storage space and improving efficiency when containers are not in use.
Why choose fiberglass containers instead of plastic?
Fiberglass containers offer excellent strength, long-term durability, and resistance to wear in demanding industrial environments.
Are these containers suitable for warehouses and manufacturing facilities?
Yes. Nest-only fiberglass bins are commonly used in warehouses, production areas, and distribution operations for reusable storage and handling.
Do these containers help save space when empty?
Absolutely. Their nesting design allows multiple containers to be stored in a compact footprint, helping reduce clutter and improve storage efficiency.
Do you offer quantity discounts for bulk orders?
Yes. Many fiberglass container products include quantity price breaks. Contact our team if you're ordering in volume or outfitting a facility.
Is the manufacturer’s warranty included with my purchase?
Yes. All products sold on CustomMHS.com include the original manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise noted. Custom MHS is an authorized dealer for the brands we carry, which means your purchase is covered by the manufacturer's full factory warranty.
