Logitrans HL-Series Manual Thork Skid Lift | Pallet and Skid Positioning, 19" to 27" Wide Forks

The Logitrans HL-Series Thork Skid Lift is a manual hydraulic skid and pallet positioner designed specifically for handling skids and open-bottom pallets, load types that standard pallet trucks are not suited to engage. The forks insert under the skid, or open-bottom pallet, and the hydraulic mechanism raises the load to a working or transport height, reducing the need to work from floor level. Maximum lift height is 31.5".

Capacity is height-dependent: 3,300 lbs at a height of 18.5" and 2,200 lbs at the full 31.5" maximum height. All three models use 47" long forks. The only variable across the lineup is fork width, available in three sizes to accommodate different skid and pallet entry widths.

Design features include rounded corners to minimize damage to surroundings during transport, and an ergonomically shaped handle for comfortable grip during maneuvering.

Models and Specifications:

♦ HL 1006-1947, 19" wide x 47" long forks. Maximum lift height 31.5". Capacity 3,300 lbs to 18.5" / 2,200 lbs to 31.5". Narrowest fork width suited for skids and pallets with tighter entry widths.

♦ HL 1006-2147, 21.25" wide x 47" long forks. Maximum lift height 31.5". Capacity 3,300 lbs to 18.5" / 2,200 lbs to 31.5". Mid-width forks for a wider range of skid and pallet entry widths.

♦ HL 1006-2747, 27" wide x 47" long forks. Maximum lift height 31.5". Capacity 3,300 lbs to 18.5" / 2,200 lbs to 31.5". Widest fork width suited for wider skids, double-wide pallets, or applications where additional fork spread provides better load stability.

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Fork width, the only difference between the three HL-Series models is fork width: 19", 21.25", or 27". Select the fork width that fits within the entry opening of the skids or pallets being handled. Wider forks provide greater stability for wider loads; narrower forks are required when the entry opening does not allow wider forks to engage.

♦ Capacity and height, all three models share identical capacity ratings. Note the height-dependent capacity: the full 3,300 lb rating applies only at heights up to 18.5". At the maximum 31.5" lift height, capacity drops to 2,200 lbs. Plan load weights accordingly when lifting to full height.

♦ Thork Skid Lift vs. standard pallet truck: A standard pallet truck requires a pallet with a deck bottom that the pallet truck wheels can roll under. The Thork Skid Lift is designed for skids (no bottom deck) and open-bottom pallets that a standard pallet truck cannot engage. If your operation uses skids or open-bottom pallets, the Thork is the appropriate tool.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Stamping and Die Shops Using Skids, metal fabrication, stamping, and die shops moving heavy tooling, dies, and production materials stored on skids use the Thork Skid Lift to raise and position loads that would otherwise require floor-level manual handling or powered equipment.

♦ Printing and Paper Handling, commercial print operations using paper rolls and media stacks on skids or open-bottom pallets use the Thork to raise and position print media at feed height, reducing manual lifting and improving operator posture during loading.

♦ Warehouses with Mixed Pallet and Skid Inventory, distribution, and warehouse operations handling both standard pallets and skids or open-bottom pallets use the Thork Skid Lift as a supplement to standard pallet trucks, covering the load types that standard trucks cannot handle.

♦ Maintenance and Heavy Component Handling: maintenance departments that use skids to stage heavy motors, gearboxes, and machinery components use the HL-Series to raise skid-mounted loads to working or installation height for service operations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Interthor Logitrans HL-Series manual Thork skid lift?
The Interthor Logitrans HL-Series manual Thork skid lift is an ergonomic pallet positioner designed for handling skids and open-bottom pallets with ease. It allows operators to raise loads to a comfortable working height without relying on powered equipment. This improves material access and reduces the need to bend or lift from floor level. It is a reliable solution for day-to-day warehouse and production handling.
How does the HL-Series skid lift improve workplace ergonomics?
This skid lift helps keep loads within an optimal working zone, reducing strain on the back, shoulders, and knees. Workers can load and unload product while maintaining better posture and control. Over time, this can lower fatigue and reduce the risk of repetitive stress injuries. Ergonomic handling also supports faster and more consistent productivity throughout the shift.
Why is the Thork design ideal for skids and open-bottom pallets?
Skids and open-bottom pallets require specialized support because traditional pallet trucks may not provide the right access or stability. The Thork skid lift is designed to securely engage these pallet types while enabling smooth lifting and positioning. This makes staging, picking, and assembly work more efficient. If your operation relies on open-bottom pallets, this design is a major advantage.
Where are manual skid lifts like this most commonly used?
The HL-Series skid lift is commonly used in warehouses, shipping areas, packaging lines, maintenance departments, and production support zones. It is especially valuable where loads need to be lifted frequently without powered lifting equipment. Because it is manually operated, it is well-suited for facilities seeking a dependable, cost-effective ergonomic upgrade. It can easily support multi-station workflows.
What should you consider when selecting the right HL-Series skid lift?
Buyers should evaluate load capacity, lift height range, and compatibility with the specific pallet or skid style being handled. Mobility, floor conditions, and daily usage frequency also play a role in choosing the best unit. Durability is important since these lifts are often used repeatedly in demanding environments. Selecting the right configuration ensures safer handling and long-term performance.
