Presto Lifts WP-Series Non-Straddle Work Positioner

Presto Lifts WP-Series Non-Straddle Work Positioner

Presto Lifts WP-Series Non-Straddle Work Positioner | No Outrigger Legs, 2,000–3,000 lb

The Presto WP-Series is a powered work positioner with a non-straddle design; it has no outrigger base legs. Most pallet stackers and skid lifters use straddle legs that extend outward alongside the pallet to provide lateral stability. The WP-Series eliminates these legs entirely, allowing it to operate in confined areas, tight work cells, and narrow aisles where outrigger-style equipment cannot fit or maneuver. The unit approaches the load straight on, similar to a standard pallet truck.

Designed specifically for open-bottom pallets and skids, the WP-Series lowers to 3-1/4" for near-floor-level engagement and raises to a maximum of 36", 48", or 60" depending on the model selected. The compact 28" overall width supports operation in the tightest available spaces in the lineup. Six models are available across two capacity tiers (2,000 lb and 3,000 lb) and three raised heights.

Models and Specifications:

♦ WP36-20, 28" wide. Raised 3-1/4" to 36". Capacity 2,000 lbs. Non-straddle design. Open-bottom pallets and skids. Overall unit: 60"H, 28"W, 65"L.

♦ WP48-20, 28" wide. Raised 3-1/4" to 48". Capacity 2,000 lbs. Non-straddle design. Open-bottom pallets and skids. Overall unit: 72"H, 28"W, 65"L.

♦ WP60-20, 28" wide. Raised 3-1/4" to 60". Capacity 2,000 lbs. Non-straddle design. Open-bottom pallets and skids. Overall unit: 84"H, 28"W, 65"L. The tallest 2,000 lb model.

♦ WP36-30, 28" wide. Raised 3-1/4" to 36". Capacity 3,000 lbs. Non-straddle design. Open-bottom pallets and skids. Overall unit: 60"H, 28"W, 65"L.

♦ WP48-30, 28" wide. Raised 3-1/4" to 48". Capacity 3,000 lbs. Non-straddle design. Open-bottom pallets and skids. Overall unit: 72"H, 28"W, 65"L.

♦ WP60-30, 28" wide. Raised 3-1/4" to 60". Capacity 3,000 lbs. Non-straddle design. Open-bottom pallets and skids. Overall unit: 84"H, 28"W, 65"L. The tallest and highest-capacity model in the WP-Series lineup.

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Capacity, 2,000 lb vs. 3,000 lb: select a model rated at or above the maximum expected load weight. The -20 suffix models handle 2,000 lbs. The 30-suffix models handle 3,000 lbs. Both capacity tiers are available at all three raised heights.

♦ Maximum raised height: 36", 48", or 60". The number prefix in each model number indicates the maximum raised height. Select based on the highest staging, positioning, or transfer height needed. All models lower to 3-1/4" regardless of the maximum raised height.

♦ Non-straddle vs. straddle-leg stackers: the WP-Series is the correct choice when outrigger straddle legs cannot fit in the available space, tight aisles, production work cells, or confined staging areas where straddle-leg equipment would be too wide to maneuver. For applications where straddle legs are not a problem and standard straddle stackers are suitable, other models in the Presto Lifts or Logitrans stacker lineup may provide additional height or capacity options.

♦ Pallet compatibility: the WP-Series requires open-bottom pallets or skids for fork engagement. Standard solid-bottom pallets are not compatible. Verify pallet type before ordering.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Confined Work Cell Pallet and Skid Positioning: In production work cells with tight layouts where standard straddle-leg stackers cannot fit, use the WP-Series for powered pallet and skid positioning within the cell without requiring wider aisle clearance for straddle-leg movement.

♦ Narrow Aisle Staging and Transfer, distribution and warehouse operations with narrow staging aisles use the WP-Series 28" overall width to operate in spaces that are too narrow for straddle-leg equipment, maintaining powered lift capability in the tightest available facility layouts.

♦ Maintenance Heavy Load Positioning at 3,000 lb, maintenance departments positioning heavy skid-mounted machinery, components, and equipment at service positions use the 3,000 lb WP-30 models for high-capacity powered lift in confined maintenance areas where a standard straddle stacker would not fit.

♦ Assembly Line Skid Supply in Tight Production Areas: Assembly lines using the WP-Series to deliver open-bottom skid loads to assembly positions in confined production areas use the non-straddle design to maneuver in tight line configurations where straddle equipment would disrupt the production layout.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Presto Lifts WP-Series non-straddle work positioner used for?
The Presto Lifts WP-Series non-straddle work positioner is a compact lifting solution designed to raise and position loads at an ergonomic working height. It is ideal for tasks such as assembly, packing, inspection, and workstation feeding where materials require frequent access. The non-straddle design makes it easy to use in tight spaces. This unit helps improve comfort and efficiency in everyday material handling.
How does the non-straddle design benefit tight workspaces?
A non-straddle configuration allows the work positioner to operate in confined zones without requiring wide support legs. This makes it easier to maneuver around workstations, benches, and narrow aisles. Operators can position loads closer to the task area for better access. The compact footprint is especially valuable in facilities where space is at a premium.
How does this work positioner improve ergonomics and safety?
By lifting loads from the floor to a comfortable working height, the WP-Series reduces bending, reaching, and repetitive strain. Operators can maintain better posture while handling materials throughout the shift. Controlled lifting also helps stabilize the load during positioning. Ergonomic improvements like these support safer workflows and more consistent productivity.
Where does the WP-Series perform best in daily operations?
This compact positioner performs well in warehouses, assembly lines, production work cells, and packing stations where smaller loads require frequent height adjustment. It is especially useful in environments that need ergonomic lifting without bulky equipment. The unit supports staging, kitting, and material access tasks in tight spaces. Any operation focused on efficient workstation lifting can benefit from this solution.
How does the WP-Series support productivity and workflow efficiency?
Keeping materials at the proper working height reduces wasted motion and speeds up repetitive handling tasks. Operators can work faster and more accurately when loads remain accessible. Smooth load positioning also helps reduce product damage and handling errors. Over time, this improves throughput and daily material flow.
