Vestil Ergonomic High-Rise Powered Lift Truck (HIPM Series)

Vestil lift truck

Vestil HIPM Series Ergonomic High-Rise Powered Lift Truck | 2,500 lb, 48" Forks, Auto Brake

The Vestil HIPM Series is a 12V DC battery-powered electric hydraulic lift truck for raising open-bottom skids, pallets, and loads to working height. Push-button raise-and-lower controls operate the electric-hydraulic system for smooth, controlled elevation. An onboard battery charger with a charge-indicator gauge simplifies power management and keeps the unit available throughout multi-shift operations.

A key operational feature is the automatic brake, which engages at approximately 8" of fork height, providing stability and preventing unintended movement once the load is elevated. Mobility is provided by 8" x 3" rear phenolic swivel casters and dual 3" front guide wheels for confident transport across facility floors.

The HIPM Series is suited for packing, assembly, kitting, and maintenance workflows where loads must be raised to ergonomic working height repeatedly throughout the shift. Two models are available, differing only in fork width.

Models and Specifications:

♦ HIPM-2048-DC, 20" W, 48" L forks. Travel 3-1/2" to 31-1/2". Capacity 2,500 lbs. 12V DC battery, onboard charger, battery charge indicator gauge. Auto brake at approximately 8". 8" x 3" rear phenolic swivel casters, dual 3" front guide wheels. Standard fork width.

♦ HIPM-2748-DC, 27" W, 48" L forks. Travel 3-1/2" to 31-1/2". Capacity 2,500 lbs. 12V DC battery, onboard charger, battery charge indicator gauge. Auto brake at approximately 8". 8" x 3" rear phenolic swivel casters, dual 3" front guide wheels. Wide fork option.

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Fork width, 20" vs. 27", the HIPM-2048-DC uses 20" wide forks for standard skid and pallet entry widths. The HIPM-2748-DC uses 27" wide forks for wider skids or loads where a broader fork spread provides better lateral support. Both models share the same 48" fork length, capacity, travel range, and all other specifications.

♦ HIPM Series vs. L-220/L-270-DC-HD Series, both are Vestil battery-powered high-rise lift trucks. The HIPM has longer forks (48" vs. 45"), lower capacity (2,500 lb vs. 3,000 lb), an auto brake at 8", and a battery charge indicator gauge. The L-HD has higher capacity (3,000 lb) and automatic side stabilizers that engage above 20-1/2". Choose based on the required fork length, capacity requirements, and whether the side stabilizer or the auto brake safety feature is more relevant to the application.

♦ Auto brake consideration: The auto brake engages when the forks reach approximately 8", which is early in the lift range. This is a stability feature during maneuvering with an elevated load. Confirm the brake engagement height is compatible with the intended use before ordering.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Packing and Assembly Workflow Ergonomics, packing and assembly operations where workers repeatedly access materials from elevated skid loads use the HIPM for electric lift to working height at the start of each packing or assembly cycle, keeping the load surface at a consistent ergonomic height throughout the operation.

♦ Kitting and Staging in Production: production support operations stage parts and sub-assemblies on skids at the kitting or staging position; use the HIPM for battery-powered lift to staging height without manual pump effort across multi-shift production.

♦ Warehouse Skid Handling at 2,500 lb, warehouse and distribution operations moving 2,500 lb skid loads between dock, staging, and work positions use the HIPM for electric transport and lift at a capacity above the 2,200 lb standard of most other electric skid lifters at CustomMHS.

♦ Maintenance and MRO Parts Positioning, maintenance departments transporting and positioning heavy skid-mounted components, spare parts, and equipment at the service location use the HIPM for electric lift to working height, with the onboard charger keeping the unit ready across maintenance shifts without returning to a fixed charging station.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Vestil ergonomic high-rise powered lift truck designed for?
The Vestil ergonomic high-rise powered lift truck is built to raise palletized loads to an elevated working height for easier access and positioning. It uses electric hydraulic lifting to provide smooth, controlled vertical movement. This equipment is ideal for order picking, assembly, packing, and staging applications where loads must be lifted above standard pallet height. It helps improve efficiency while reducing physical strain on operators.
How does this powered lift truck improve ergonomics and workplace safety?
By bringing loads up to a comfortable height, the lift truck reduces constant bending, reaching, and manual lifting. Operators can maintain better posture, which helps reduce fatigue and the risk of repetitive strain. Features such as an automatic brake enhance stability during operation, supporting safer handling in active environments. Ergonomic positioning leads to smoother workflow and fewer interruptions caused by unsafe movements.
Why is electric hydraulic lifting with onboard charging beneficial?
Electric hydraulic lifting provides consistent performance and controlled elevation with minimal operator effort. The onboard charger adds convenience by making it easy to recharge the unit without complicated setups. This keeps the lift available and ready for daily use across multiple shifts. Battery-powered lifting also supports cleaner indoor operations with no emissions.
What role do auto brake systems and phenolic casters play in performance?
An automatic brake improves safety by preventing unintended movement during the lifting or positioning of loads. Phenolic casters support smooth rolling and durability on many industrial floor surfaces. Together, these features help provide better control, stability, and maneuverability in tight work areas. This makes the lift truck a practical choice for fast-paced warehouse and production environments.
Where does this high-rise powered lift truck perform best?
This equipment is well-suited for warehouses, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and packing stations where elevated pallet access is required. It is especially useful when forklifts are not ideal for frequent height adjustments in confined areas. The lift truck supports staging, kitting, and workstation processes that require controlled vertical positioning. Any operation focused on ergonomic material handling can benefit from this solution.
