Wesco Deluxe Lowboy Pallet Truck

Wesco Deluxe Lowboy Pallet Truck

Wesco Deluxe Lowboy Pallet Truck | 2.125" Lowered Height, 5,500 lb, Overload Bypass

The Wesco Deluxe Lowboy Pallet Truck is a 5,500-lb manual hydraulic pallet truck designed for low-clearance pallets and skids that standard pallet trucks cannot reach. The 2.125" lowered height compared to 3.0" on the Wesco Standard Deluxe allows the forks to slide under pallets and skids with minimal deck clearance, including export skids, low-bottom display pallets, and custom pallet types where standard fork height would prevent entry.

Despite the low profile, a full 5,500 lb capacity is maintained. A built-in overload bypass protects the pump from overload damage, and a 5-year pump warranty backs the hydraulic system. Eight-gauge reinforced heavy-duty forks provide structural rigidity for demanding daily use. A rubber-coated handle improves grip and operator comfort. The 210° steering radius and 6" moldon polyurethane steering wheels with 2" steel load wheels deliver smooth maneuverability on facility floors.

Four models are available: three with 21" wide forks at three lengths (36", 42", 48"), and one with 27" wide forks at 48" length.

Models and Specifications:

♦ 272760, 21" W, 36" L forks. Lowered 2.125", raised 6.25". Capacity 5,500 lbs. Overload bypass. 5-year pump warranty. 8-gauge reinforced forks. Rubber-coated handle. 210° steering. 6" moldon polyurethane steer wheels, 2" steel load wheels.

♦ 272761, 21" W, 42" L forks. Lowered 2.125", raised 6.25". Capacity 5,500 lbs. Same specification as 272760 at a greater fork length.

♦ 272762, 21" W, 48" L forks. Lowered 2.125", raised 6.25". Capacity 5,500 lbs. Same specification as 272760 at greatest fork length.

♦ 272765, 27" W, 48" L forks. Lowered 2.125", raised 6.25". Capacity 5,500 lbs. Overload bypass. 5-year pump warranty. 8-gauge reinforced forks. Rubber-coated handle. 210° steering. 6" moldon polyurethane steer wheels, 2" steel load wheels. Wide fork at 48" length, the only 27" wide model in the lowboy lineup.

Selecting the Right Model:

♦ Fork width, 21" or 27": three of the four models use 21" wide forks. Only the 272765 is available in 27" wide forks, and only at 48" length. Choose the 27" model when the pallet entry opening requires or benefits from a wider fork spread. For all other fork length requirements, the 21" wide models are the only option.

♦ Fork length, 36", 42", or 48", the 21" wide models cover all three lengths. Select based on the pallet depth in the operation. For full GMA pallet depth (40"), the 42" or 48" models are appropriate.

♦ Lowboy vs. Standard Deluxe: the defining difference is the lowered height: 2.125" vs. 3.0". If the pallets or skids in the operation have sufficient deck clearance for a 3" fork entry, the Standard Deluxe is adequate and offers more fork size options (including 27" wide in all three lengths). Choose the Lowboy specifically when low-clearance pallet or skid deck height is a known operational constraint.

♦ Raised height, the Lowboy raises to 6.25" lower than the Standard Deluxe's 8". This is adequate for standard pallet transport (floor-to-floor movement) but is not a high-lift pallet truck. If a raised height above 6.25" is required for any reason, a different product is needed.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Low-Clearance Skid and Pallet Handling: operations handling export skids, open-bottom pallets with low deck clearance, or custom low-profile pallets where a standard pallet truck's 3" lowered height would not fit under the deck, use the Lowboy for fork entry that standard trucks cannot provide.

♦ Manufacturing and Production Skid Handling, production operations moving manufacturing skids and work-in-process skids with limited underside clearance use the Lowboy to engage and transport these loads without requiring custom equipment or manual lifting to position the skid on a standard pallet.

♦ Receiving and Dock Handling of Low-Profile Loads, receiving departments handling inbound shipments on low-profile export pallets or non-standard commercial pallets use the Lowboy as the appropriate tool for dock transport of loads that would require the 2.125" entry clearance.

♦ Display and Retail Pallet Handling, retail distribution and display operations using low-profile display pallets that are designed to be moved with a pallet truck and displayed at floor level, use the Lowboy to handle these specialized pallet types within normal pallet truck workflow.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the Wesco Deluxe Lowboy Pallet Truck designed for?
The Wesco deluxe lowboy pallet truck is designed to move palletized loads, featuring a lower fork profile than standard pallet jacks. This design is ideal for handling pallets or skids with limited clearance. It provides a reliable manual solution for warehouses and shipping areas handling specialized pallet types. For operations that need flexibility beyond a standard pallet truck, the lowboy option is a practical choice.
How does a lowboy pallet truck improve handling versatility?
A lowboy pallet jack can reach pallets closer to the ground, which standard pallet trucks may not lift properly. This expands the load range your team can move without requiring additional equipment. It is especially useful for facilities that handle custom pallets, export skids, or floor-level platforms. The result is smoother operations and fewer load handling limitations.
Where is the Wesco lowboy pallet truck most commonly used?
This pallet truck is commonly used in manufacturing plants, warehouses, distribution centers, and shipping docks. It works well in environments where non-standard pallet heights are part of daily operations. Businesses often rely on lowboy trucks to stage specialized loads and move pallets in tight work areas. Its versatility makes it valuable in both industrial and commercial material handling settings.
What makes this pallet truck a durable choice for heavy-duty use?
Wesco deluxe pallet trucks are built with rugged construction designed to withstand frequent daily use. Strong frames and dependable hydraulic systems support consistent lifting and lowering performance. A durable pallet jack reduces downtime and helps prevent maintenance issues over time. For facilities that rely on pallet-handling equipment every shift, durability is essential.
How does a heavy-duty manual pallet jack support workplace safety?
A well-built pallet truck provides stable load support and smooth maneuvering, reducing the risk of load shifting. Controlled handling also helps operators navigate busy aisles and staging areas more safely. Ergonomic operation reduces physical strain, supporting better work habits over long shifts. Reliable equipment is essential to maintaining safe and efficient pallet movement.
