Hallowell Steel Decking Bulk Rack

Hallowell Steel Decking Bulk Rack | 3,000 to 3,800 lbs Per Shelf
Hallowell steel decking bulk rack is a heavy-duty open-back industrial storage system rated from 3,000 to 3,800 lbs per shelf, depending on unit width. All units include 3 steel-deck shelves with adjustable shelf levels and heavy-gauge welded uprights with side-sway braces for lateral stability under load. The open-back design allows front- and rear-loading in high-traffic storage environments.
Two heights are available: 87" and 123". Widths range from 48" to 96". Depths are available in 24", 36", and 48". Starter units include two uprights and three shelves and function as standalone units. Add-on units include one upright and three shelves and share a standard upright with an adjacent starter or add-on to form a continuous row.
Selection Guide:
♦ Capacity by width, the 48" wide configuration provides the highest per-shelf capacity at 3,800 lbs. The 60" and 72" wide configurations are rated at 3,500 lbs per shelf. The 96" wide configuration is rated at 3,000 lbs per shelf. Determine the minimum per-shelf capacity required for the heaviest stored items before selecting the width.
♦ Width selection, 48" wide units suit narrower bays and items that fit within that span. 60" and 72" wide units provide a broader shelf surface for larger or multiple items per shelf. 96" wide units provide the greatest lateral span for very large items or high-quantity storage per shelf, at the lowest per-shelf capacity in the lineup.
♦ Height selection, 87" high units suit standard warehouse and stockroom ceiling clearances. 123" high units provide significantly more vertical storage capacity where ceiling height allows, with the same 3-shelf configuration meaning greater shelf spacing between levels.
♦ Depth selection, 24" depth suits items with a moderate front-to-back dimension and provides the smallest floor footprint. 36" depth accommodates deeper items or higher quantities per shelf. 48" depth provides the maximum front-to-back shelf surface for the largest or deepest items in the lineup.
♦ Starter vs. add-on units: begin each row with one starter unit. Add-on units extend the row by sharing a standard upright with the adjacent unit. Do not begin a row with an add-on unit, as it cannot stand alone.
♦ Row planning, calculate the total number of bays needed, then order one starter plus the required number of add-ons. Each starter or add-on provides 3 shelves at the selected width and depth.
Where Commonly Used:
♦ Warehouses and Distribution Centers for Heavy Bulk Storage: Warehouses storing dense inventory, packaged goods, heavy components, and bulk materials in high-throughput environments use the Hallowell bulk rack for open-back front-and-rear loading access and 3,000 to 3,800 lb per shelf capacity that standard shelving cannot provide.
♦ Manufacturing Plants for Raw Material and Component Storage, manufacturing plants storing raw materials, large components, and production supplies use the heavy-gauge welded uprights and side-sway braces to maintain structural stability in active plant environments where floor vibration and forklift traffic are routine.
♦ Maintenance Departments with Large Spare Parts, maintenance and MRO departments storing large replacement parts, heavy equipment, and oversized consumables use the adjustable shelf levels to configure the rack around items of varying heights without committing to a fixed layout.
♦ Stockrooms with Oversized or High-Weight Inventory, stockrooms managing inventory that exceeds the capacity of standard shelving -- large packaged items, heavy tooling, bulk supplies use the Hallowell bulk rack as the appropriate-capacity solution where standard shelving is structurally inadequate.
