MECO Series 1000 Cantilever Rack Straight Arms
MECO Series 1,000 Straight Cantilever Arms
These straight cantilever arms are the load-bearing components that attach to Series 1000 uprights, forming the actual storage surface. Arms adjust on 3" centers up and down the upright column using a hairpin keeper, allowing storage levels to be reconfigured without tools as inventory needs change. Straight arms include a minimum pitch of 3/8" per foot to compensate for deflection under load, keeping the arm level in use rather than visibly sagging. A retaining lip option is available for load containment. Verify lip availability for your model number before ordering, or call 866-333-0728.
Seven lengths are available from 12" to 48". Capacity per arm decreases as arm length increases due to the greater moment load on the upright at longer reach. Select the arm length that fully supports the load width, then verify the per-arm capacity covers the weight of material on each arm at each storage level.
Arms are sold individually. Series 1000 arms are compatible only with Series 1000 uprights, not interchangeable with any other MECO rack series. Prices are shown by manufacturer model number for direct competitor comparison.
Choosing the Right Arm Length and Capacity:
♦ MSA12: 12" long, 1,000 lb per arm. The shortest and highest-capacity arm in the series. For compact layouts with narrow loads.
♦ MSA18: 18" long, 750 lb per arm. Added reach for slightly wider materials without a significant reduction in capacity.
♦ MSA24: 24" long, 600 lb per arm. A common choice for pipe, conduit, bar stock, and similar mid-width materials.
♦ MSA30: 30" long, 500 lb per arm. For materials requiring deeper reach, such as wider lumber or extrusions.
♦ MSA36: 36" long, 400 lb per arm. Suited to wide sheets, long boards, or bulk material stored at a shallower depth per level.
♦ MSA42: 42" long, 350 lb per arm. Extended reach for the widest materials in the series.
♦ MSA48: 48" long, 300 lb per arm. The longest arm available. Lowest per-arm capacity: verify that load weight per arm does not exceed 300 lbs at this length.
The arm length must also match the selected upright base length. Confirm compatibility with the base length of your upright before ordering. See the upright pages for base-to-arm length compatibility charts.

Where Series 1000 Straight Arms Are Commonly Used:
♦ Lumber and sheet goods: Supporting dimensional lumber, plywood, OSB, and panel products at organized storage levels accessible from the front without front column interference.
♦ Pipe, conduit, and tubing: Storing bundles or individual lengths of round material on straight arms -- use a retaining lip when storing round or rolling materials to prevent forward movement.
♦ Bar stock and structural steel: Organizing flat bar, angle iron, or light structural sections at assigned rack positions by size and grade for faster retrieval.
♦ Cartons and stable unitized loads: Storing boxed or banded loads on straight arms where the load is stable and front containment is not required.
