Vestil Hydraulic Elevating Carts

Vestil Hydraulic Elevating Carts | 13 Models, 400 to 4,000 lb, Up to 68" Lift Height

Vestil hydraulic elevating carts are manual foot-pump scissor lift carts for lifting and transporting loads in warehouses, manufacturing, and distribution environments. The platform raises via a foot-operated hydraulic pump -- available in single-speed, two-speed, and two-speed auto-shifting configurations -- and lowers via a soft-lowering down valve for precise, controlled descent. Four polyurethane casters provide smooth mobility: two swivel casters with brakes for stationary positioning and two rigid casters for directional stability when pushing.

Thirteen models span a capacity range of 400 to 4,000 lbs and a maximum lift height range of 29" to 68". Two double-scissor models (CART-800-D-TS and CART-1500-D-TS) provide the highest lift heights in the lineup at 51-7/8" and 68" respectively. Platform configurations include compact, standard, wide, long-deck, and flat-platform (FP) variants across single-scissor and double-scissor mechanisms.

Selection Guide:

♦ Pump type: The CART-400 uses a single-speed foot pump, the most basic option. TS-suffix models use a two-speed foot pump for faster lifting when unloaded and slower, more controlled lifting under load. FP-suffix models use a two-speed, auto-shifting pump that adjusts speed based on platform load.

♦ Single-scissor vs. double-scissor, single-scissor models (CART-400 through CART-4000 and FP models) provide maximum lift heights of 29" to 40". Double-scissor models (CART-800-D-TS and CART-1500-D-TS) offer 51-7/8" and 68" maximum heights for applications requiring substantially greater vertical travel than a single-scissor platform.

♦ Capacity, the CART-400 handles 400 lbs, the lowest in the lineup. Mid-range models handle 750 to 2,500 lbs. The CART-4000 handles 4,000 lbs, the highest-capacity manual scissor lift cart across all brands carried by CustomMHS. Select a model rated comfortably above the actual load weight.

♦ Platform size and configuration, compact platforms (CART-400 and CART-1000-TS at 17-1/2" x 27-1/2") suit tight aisles and smaller loads. The CART-1000-LD is the long-deck variant, measuring 31-1/2" x 63", for pallet-sized or extended loads with a 1,000 lb capacity. FP-suffix models are available in three widths (20-3/8", 32-3/8", and 42-3/8") all at 40-3/8" long, and suit applications where a flat, wide platform is preferred.

♦ Minimum lowered height for floor-level loading, the CART-400 lowers to 8-3/4", the lowest in the Vestil lineup. Most other models lower to 15" to 19". If loading from floor-level pallets or ground-level sources, the CART-400 provides the most floor-proximate loading position.

♦ Double-scissor for tall transfer heights, the CART-800-D-TS (800 lb, 51-7/8" max) and CART-1500-D-TS (1,500 lb, 68" max) are the only models suited for transfers to elevated conveyors, high benches, or multi-level rack positions that exceed the single-scissor maximum.

♦ Wide FP platform for broad load support: the CART-2000-4242-FP (42-3/8" x 42-3/8") provides the widest load surface in the lineup at 2,000 lb capacity, suited for wide loads that require a broad support footprint.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Warehouse Order Picking and Replenishment, warehouse operations use Vestil elevating carts to position totes, cases, and pick containers at an ergonomic height during order picking and shelf replenishment, reducing stooped posture and improving pick rate at floor-level and mid-level pick faces.

♦ Manufacturing Assembly and Parts Staging: assembly operations use the standard, wide-platform Vestil carts to deliver parts and subassemblies to the assembly position at working height, then reposition the cart to the next station, eliminating dedicated fixed lift tables at each assembly position.

♦ Elevated Conveyor Loading, operations loading to conveyors above standard cart height use the CART-800-D-TS or CART-1500-D-TS double-scissor models to reach conveyor heights of 50" to 68" that are beyond the service range of single-scissor alternatives.

♦ High-Capacity Material Transport, operations moving heavy loads (2,000 to 4,000 lbs) between workstations use the high-capacity Vestil models, particularly the CART-4000, where the load weight exceeds what lighter-duty scissor cart alternatives can support.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a Vestil hydraulic elevating cart, and what does it do?
A Vestil hydraulic elevating cart is a manual lift table on wheels that raises and lowers loads, allowing you to work at a safer, more efficient height. It helps reduce bending, reaching, and awkward lifting during picking, packing, assembly, or staging. Many teams use these carts to move materials and then elevate them to the work area. It is a simple upgrade that can immediately improve workflow and reduce strain on workers.
How is a manual hydraulic lift table different from powered lift equipment?
Manual hydraulic lift tables use foot pumps or hand controls to raise the platform and a controlled release to lower it. They do not require charging, wiring, or special power connections, which makes them easy to deploy anywhere in a facility. Powered equipment can be faster for high-cycle lifting, but manual units often win out in simplicity, portability, and lower ownership costs. If you want reliable lift capability without adding electrical complexity, these carts are a strong fit. What are the most common uses for hydraulic elevating carts in material handling?
What are the most common uses for hydraulic elevating carts in material handling?
They are commonly used for order picking, replenishment, kitting, maintenance tasks, and feeding parts to workstations. Warehouses use them to stage cartons at ergonomic heights, while shops use them to position components for assembly or inspection. They also work well as mobile work surfaces when you need a stable platform that adjusts to the task. In many operations, one cart can cover multiple departments because it is easy to move and quick to set up.
How do I choose the right capacity and platform size?
Start with the heaviest load you expect to lift, then add a safety cushion so the cart is not operating at the edge of its capability. Next, match the platform size to the footprint of your common items so the load sits fully supported and stable. Consider the lift height range too, because the best cart is the one that brings work to a comfortable waist-level zone. If your loads vary significantly, choosing a slightly larger-capacity, platform-based cart can prevent the need for a second cart later.
What safety and ergonomic benefits should I expect?
Raising items to a better working height helps reduce back strain, shoulder fatigue, and repetitive stress from constant bending and lifting. Controlled lifting and lowering also helps keep loads stable, which can reduce product damage and workplace incidents. When work stays in the ergonomic zone, employees can maintain better posture and work faster with fewer interruptions. These carts are often a practical way to support safety goals while also improving output.
