MECO Cantilever Series 3000, 4000, and 5000 Structural Brace Sets for Cantilever Rack Stability

These structural channel brace sets bolt between pairs of Series 3000, 4000, or 5000 uprights to provide lateral stability. One brace set is required for each bay in the row. Unlike the Series 1000 and 2000 brace sets, which are dedicated to their respective series, these brace sets are cross-compatible across all three higher-duty series: Series 3000, 4000, and 5000.

The number of braces per set and the inclusion of X bracing vary by upright height group, following the same pattern as the Series 2000 brace sets. Brace sets are sold as complete sets, not individual pieces. Standard finish is gray.

Choosing the Right Brace Set:

Three decisions determine the correct model: upright height group, brace length, and inclusion of X bracing.

Step 1: Match the upright height group. The prefix number indicates the braces-per-set count and height group.

♦ 2B series (two braces per set): For 8' uprights. Verify with MECO whether 6' Series 3000/4000/5000 uprights also use this set -- the table currently lists "8' uprights" only.

♦ 3B series (three braces per set): For 10' to 14' uprights.

♦ 4B series (four braces per set plus X bracing): For 15' to 20' uprights. The X suffix on all 4B models indicates the set includes X bracing. The two widest lengths (4B96XX and 4B120XX) use a double-X designation indicating additional cross-bracing for the widest spans.

Step 2: Measure centerline to centerline. Brace length is measured from the centerline of one upright to the centerline of the next. Verify with MECO or call 866-333-0728 whether the nominal model number matches the actual brace width exactly or whether the actual width is 1" less than the nominal value (as is the case with Series 1000 and 2000 brace sets).

Available lengths (nominal model number):

♦ B24 models: 24" nominal.

♦ B36 models: 36" nominal.

♦ B42 models: 42" nominal.

♦ B48 models: 48" nominal.

♦ B60 models: 60" nominal.

♦ B72 models: 72" nominal.

♦ B84 models: 84" nominal.

♦ B96 models: 96" nominal.

♦ B120 models: 120" nominal. X bracing is included across all height groups at this length.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are MECO Cantilever Series 3000, 4000, and 5000 Structural Brace Sets?
MECO Cantilever Series 3000, 4000, and 5000 Structural Brace Sets connect pairs of compatible cantilever rack uprights. They bolt between upright columns to help support lateral stability in the rack system. These brace sets also help maintain proper upright spacing and rack alignment. Brace length is measured from the centerline of one upright to the centerline of the next upright. This measurement is important when matching a brace set to your rack layout.
How do structural brace sets help improve facility storage safety and organization?
Structural brace sets help reduce unwanted movement by tying cantilever rack uprights together. This added support helps the rack system stay aligned during normal storage use. Proper bracing is especially important when storing long, heavy, or uneven materials. It can also make rack rows easier to inspect and manage. A well-supported layout helps create a cleaner and more organized storage area.
What key features should I know before ordering a MECO brace set?
MECO structural brace sets are designed for compatible Series 3000, 4000, and 5000 cantilever rack components. They are not interchangeable with other MECO rack series. Each brace set is sold as a complete set, rather than as individual brace pieces. The standard finish is gray, with custom colors sometimes available at an added cost. Before ordering, confirm the upright height, brace length, rack series, and required brace configuration.
Where are MECO cantilever rack structural brace sets typically used?
MECO cantilever rack structural brace sets are used in warehouses, manufacturing plants, supply yards, and distribution facilities. They support rack systems that store long, bulky, or irregular materials. Common storage items include lumber, pipe, tubing, bar stock, sheet goods, and metal shapes. They are also used for building materials and products that do not fit standard pallet rack systems. These brace sets help keep cantilever storage layouts stable, organized, and easier to use.
How does the correct brace set help your operation run more efficiently?
The correct brace set helps keep cantilever rack uprights aligned across each storage bay. Better alignment supports smoother loading, unloading, and material handling. It also helps reduce wasted space caused by poorly spaced or unsupported rack sections. Workers can move through aisles more easily when rack rows stay consistent. Over time, proper bracing can support better workflow, easier inspections, and more reliable storage performance.
