MECO Series 1000 Cantilever Inclined Arm With or Without Retaining Lip

These inclined cantilever arms attach to Series 1000 uprights and tilt the stored material back toward the upright rather than holding it level. The incline prevents round, cylindrical, or bundled materials from rolling or sliding forward off the arm during storage and retrieval. Straight arms are the right choice for stable, flat-bottomed loads. Inclined arms are the right choice when the load shape requires back-tilt to stay controlled on the arm.

Both with-lip and without-lip configurations are available. A retaining lip at the front edge of the arm provides additional containment for materials that may shift during handling. Arms without a lip allow faster loading and unloading when the incline alone provides sufficient control. Verify lip availability by model number before ordering, or call 866-333-0728 to confirm.

Arms adjust on 3" centers up and down the upright using a hairpin keeper that does not require tools to insert or remove. Standard finish is gray. Arms are sold individually. Series 1000 inclined arms are compatible only with Series 1000 uprights, not interchangeable with any other MECO rack series.

Choosing the Right Arm Length and Capacity:

Capacity per arm decreases as arm length increases, for the same structural reason as with straight arms -- longer reach creates greater moment load on the upright connection. Select the arm length that fully supports the load width, then confirm the per-arm capacity covers the weight at each storage level.

♦ MIA12: 12" long, 1,000 lb per arm.

♦ MIA18: 18" long, 750 lb per arm.

♦ MIA24: 24" long, 600 lb per arm.

♦ MIA30: 30" long, 500 lb per arm.

♦ MIA36: 36" long, 400 lb per arm.

♦ MIA42: 42" long, 350 lb per arm.

♦ MIA48: 48" long, 300 lb per arm. The longest arm in the series. Verify that the per-arm load does not exceed 300 lbs at this length.

Arm length must also match the base length of your upright. Confirm base-to-arm length compatibility on the Series 1000 upright pages before ordering.

Where Inclined Arms Are Commonly Used:

♦ Pipe and round tubing storage: The incline holds cylindrical material against the upright, preventing it from rolling freely forward and reducing the risk of material rolling off the arm during storage or retrieval.

♦ Conduit and EMT: Electrical conduit is often stored in bundles on inclined arms where the back-tilt keeps bundles settled and prevents the outermost pieces from shifting forward during access.

♦ Bar stock and bundled materials: Bundled steel or aluminum bar stock benefits from an inclined surface that keeps bundles nested against the upright between uses.

♦ Mixed cylindrical and flat stock storage: When a rack section stores a combination of round and flat materials at different arm levels, inclined arms can be used at specific levels while straight arms serve other levels on the same upright.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are MECO Series 1000 Cantilever Inclined Arms used for?
MECO Series 1000 Cantilever Inclined Arms are used with MECO Series 1,000 cantilever racking systems. They help store long, bulky, or hard-to-place materials in an organized layout. The inclined design helps keep materials positioned toward the upright during storage. Common uses include tubing, pipe, bar stock, trim, and bundled materials. These arms are a practical choice for medium-duty storage areas.
How do MECO Series 1000 inclined arms help your facility?
MECO Series 1000 inclined arms help your facility use vertical rack space more efficiently. They keep long materials visible, separated, and easier to access. Workers can adjust arm height as material sizes or storage needs change. This helps reduce clutter on floors, carts, and work areas. Better organization can also improve picking, restocking, and daily material handling.
What key features should buyers look for?
These MECO cantilever arms adjust on 3" centers up and down the upright. The hairpin keeper allows fast adjustment and is easy to insert or remove. Arms are available in lengths from 12" to 48" in various capacities. They come in a standard gray finish for a consistent rack appearance. Buyers should always confirm load capacity, arm length, and Series 1000 compatibility.
Should I choose inclined arms with or without a retaining lip?
MECO Series 1000 Cantilever Inclined Arms are available with or without a retaining lip. A lip provides added front-edge retention for materials that may shift during handling. Arms without lips allow faster loading and unloading when the load stays stable. The right choice depends on the material shape, movement, and how workers access the rack. Facilities often use lips for piping, tubing, and other materials that require extra control.
Are MECO Series 1000 components interchangeable with other rack series?
MECO Series 1000 uprights, arms, and brace sets are compatible only with Series 1000 components. They are not interchangeable with any other MECO rack series. This matters when replacing arms, expanding a rack, or ordering brace sets. Using the wrong series can create fit issues and unsafe storage conditions. Always confirm the rack series before purchasing MECO Series 1000 cantilever arms.
