MECO Series 2,000 Cantilever Straight Arms for Industrial Rack Systems

These straight cantilever arms are the load-bearing components that attach to Series 2000 uprights. They adjust on 3" centers up and down the upright, with the hairpin keeper allowing height changes without tools. Arms are available with or without a retaining lip. A lip reduces the chance of material sliding forward off the arm end during storage and handling.

The Series 2000 arms carry approximately double the per-arm capacity of equivalent Series 1000 arms. At 12", the Series 2000 arm is rated at 2,000 lb per arm vs. 1,000 lb for the Series 1000. This capacity difference is the primary reason to specify Series 2000 components for heavier storage applications.

Three capacity tiers are available for most lengths: standard (2SA), heavy-duty (2HDSA), and extra-heavy-duty (2XHDSA). Not all three tiers are available at every length. The 12" and 18" models offer only a standard tier, while the 24" and 30" models offer both standard and HD tiers. The 36", 42", and 48" models offer all three tiers.

Arms are sold individually. Series 2000 arms are compatible only with Series 2000 uprights, not interchangeable with Series 1000 or any other MECO rack series. Prices are shown by manufacturer model number for direct competitor comparison.

Choosing the Right Arm:

Select arm length based on the reach needed to support the load width. Select the capacity tier based on the weight of material on each arm at each storage level.

Standard tier (2SA models): Capacities from 600 to 2,000 lbs per arm depending on length. For standard industrial storage loads where the full HD capacity is not required.

Heavy Duty tier (2HDSA models): Capacities from 1,000 to 2,400 lbs per arm. For heavier loads at the same arm length where the standard tier is insufficient. Note: the 2HDSA481M (48", 1,000 lb) is an intermediate variant between the standard and full HD at 48" -- verify this model's specific application with MECO or call 866-333-0728 before ordering.

Extra Heavy Duty tier (2XHDSA models): Available at 36", 42", and 48" only. Capacities of 2,400 lb at 36" and 42", and 2,000 lb at 48". For the highest load requirements at longer arm lengths, where even the HD tier is insufficient.

Capacity per arm decreases as arm length increases due to the greater moment load on the upright at longer reach. Verify that the total weight on each arm level does not exceed the rated per-arm capacity.

The arm length must also match the base length of the Series 2000 upright. Confirm base-to-arm length compatibility before ordering.

Where Series 2000 Straight Arms Are Commonly Used:

♦ Heavy lumber and structural material storage: The higher per-arm capacity of the Series 2000 accommodates heavy dimensional lumber, LVL beams, and glulam products that exceed the weight limits of Series 1000 arms at equivalent lengths.

♦ Structural steel and plate storage: Heavier flat bar, angle iron, and steel plate can be stored on Series 2000 straight arms where the load weight per arm level would overload a Series 1000 installation.

♦ Skid and pallet staging: Raising loaded skids or pallets onto cantilever arms at an intermediate staging height for forklift transfer or order processing, where the per-arm weight rating must accommodate a full pallet load on two or three arms.

♦ Sheet goods and panel storage: Plywood, OSB, sheet metal, and similar flat materials stored vertically or horizontally on straight arms where a level support surface is needed and the load weight requires HD or XHD capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are MECO Series 2,000 Cantilever Straight Arms used for?
MECO Series 2,000 Cantilever Straight Arms support stable materials on compatible cantilever rack systems. They are commonly used for lumber, steel sheets, cartons, skids, and other flat loads. These arms help create open storage levels without front posts blocking access. Their straight design works well when materials do not need angled containment. They are useful in warehouses, shops, lumber yards, and industrial storage areas.
How do these cantilever straight arms help improve facility organization?
These cantilever rack arms help keep long and bulky materials off the floor. That can reduce clutter in aisles, staging areas, and work zones. Better organization helps employees find, load, and remove materials with fewer delays. The open-front rack layout also improves visibility across stored inventory. This can support cleaner storage areas and smoother daily material handling.
What key features do MECO Series 2,000 straight arms offer?
MECO Series 2,000 straight arms adjust on 3-inch centers along compatible uprights. This lets users change storage levels as inventory sizes change. The arms are available in lengths from 12 inches to 48 inches. They also come in different capacities to match storage requirements. These gray MECO OMAHA arms are available with or without lips.
When should you choose straight arms instead of inclined cantilever arms?
Straight cantilever arms are generally used for stable loads that will not roll forward. Typical examples include lumber, sheet metal, cartons, skids, and boxed materials. Inclined arms are better for pipe, tubing, and other cylindrical products. Choosing the correct arm style helps improve load control and access. It also helps the rack system fit the materials being stored.
How can these arms help your daily operation?
MECO Series 2,000 Cantilever Straight Arms help create a more flexible storage system. Your team can adjust arm heights as product sizes or storage needs change. This reduces wasted space and helps materials stay grouped by size or type. Easier access can also reduce unnecessary handling during picking and restocking. Over time, this supports better workflow in busy storage and production areas.
