MECO Series 2000 Medium-Heavy Duty Single-Sided Cantilever Uprights with Base

These are individual uprights and bases for the MECO Series 2000 Medium-Heavy Duty Cantilever Rack system. Price includes the upright column and base only. Cantilever arms and brace sets are sold separately. The Series 2000 is the medium-heavy duty tier above the Series 1000, with uprights available in heights up to 20' -- four height options (14', 16', 18', and 20') that have no equivalent in the Series 1000 lineup. The heavier construction and taller height range make the Series 2000 the right choice when load weights, material lengths, or ceiling heights exceed those supported by the Series 1000.

Single-sided uprights are used when the rack is placed against a wall or along an aisle where access from one side only is needed. Twenty-four models cover seven heights (6', 8', 10', 12', 14', 16', 18', 20') and three base lengths per height. The base length determines which arm lengths are compatible. Series 2000 uprights are compatible only with Series 2000 arms and brace sets -- not interchangeable with the Series 1000 or any other MECO rack series.

Choosing the Right Model:

The model number encodes the height and base length. The prefix 2U indicates Series 2000 single-sided. The first two digits indicate the upright height in feet (2U6 = 6', 2U8 = 8', up to 2U20 = 20'). The last two digits indicate the base length in inches (38, 50, or 62).

Base length determines compatible arm lengths:

♦ 38" base: compatible with 12", 18", and 24" arms. For shorter reach with narrower loads.

♦ 50" base: compatible with 30" and 36" arms. For medium arm reach.

♦ 62" base: compatible with 42" and 48" arms. For the longest arm reach in the Series 2000 system.

Upright height considerations: The 14', 16', 18', and 20' uprights require forklift or lift equipment for loading and unloading at upper arm levels. Verify ceiling clearance, sprinkler head heights, and OSHA overhead clearance requirements before ordering uprights above 12'. At 20,' the upright nearly reaches a standard 24' clear-height warehouse ceiling.

To build a starter unit (one complete bay), order two uprights, arms, and a brace set. To extend a row, order one upright per add-on bay plus arms and a brace set. Arms and brace sets are available separately on the MECO Series 2000 components pages.

Where Series 2000 Uprights Are Commonly Used:

♦ High-bay lumber and building materials storage: The 14' to 20' height options allow facilities with high ceilings to maximize vertical storage density for dimensional lumber, engineered beams, and sheet goods.

♦ Steel service centers and metal distributors: Heavier structural steel, thick-wall pipe, and large-diameter tube require the heavier-duty construction of the Series 2000 over the lighter Series 1000.

♦ Heavy fabrication and manufacturing: Staging raw material stock at height for overhead crane or forklift access in production areas where the Series 1000 capacity is insufficient.

♦ Expansion of existing Series 2000 installations: Adding uprights to extend a row or replace a damaged column in an active Series 2000 system without purchasing a full starter unit.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are MECO Series 2000 Single-Sided Cantilever Uprights used for?
MECO Series 2000 Single-Sided Cantilever Uprights store long, bulky, or irregular materials in industrial spaces. They are commonly used for lumber, pipe, tubing, bar stock, and sheet materials. The single-sided design is useful when storage must sit against a wall or along one aisle. Each upright includes a base, which helps simplify planning for a compatible cantilever rack system.
How do these cantilever uprights help organize a facility?
These cantilever uprights help keep long materials off the floor and easier to identify. Open-front storage allows workers to access materials without moving pallets or stacked inventory. This layout can reduce clutter in warehouses, maintenance shops, and manufacturing areas. A more organized storage area can also support safer movement around stored materials.
What are the key features of MECO Series 2000 Medium-Heavy Duty Cantilever Uprights?
These MECO Series 2000 uprights are available in heights from 6 feet to 20 feet. That range helps facilities match rack height to storage needs and ceiling clearance. Pricing includes both the upright and base for a more complete rack starting point. They are made for MECO Series 2000 Medium Duty Cantilever Rack systems only. They are not interchangeable with other rack series or incompatible cantilever components.
Where are single-sided cantilever rack uprights typically installed?
Single-sided cantilever rack uprights are often installed against walls, along aisles, or near production areas. They work well where materials only need to be loaded and picked from one side. Facilities use them to store stock that is too long for standard pallet rack openings. Common locations include warehouses, fabrication shops, lumber areas, and industrial storage zones.
How can this product improve daily material handling?
MECO Series 2000 cantilever uprights make long materials more visible and accessible during daily operations. Workers can locate pipe, tubing, lumber, or bar stock without searching through floor piles. Better access can reduce handling time and help limit damage from poor storage methods. Using vertical space also frees floor area for equipment, staging, or safer work paths.
Is the manufacturer’s warranty included with my purchase?
