MECO Series 2000 Double-Sided Cantilever Uprights for Medium-Heavy Duty Long Material Storage

These are individual, double-sided uprights and bases for the MECO Series 2000 Medium-Heavy Duty Cantilever Rack system. The price includes the upright column and base only. Cantilever arms and brace sets are sold separately. This page is the double-sided counterpart to the Series 2000 single-sided upright page. Use these uprights when building freestanding rows where materials will be stored and accessed from both sides of the rack.

The wider bases on double-sided uprights provide the lateral stability needed to support arm loading on both sides simultaneously. Twenty-four models cover seven heights (6', 8', 10', 12', 14', 16', 18', 20') and three base widths per height. The base width determines which arm lengths are compatible. Series 2000 uprights are compatible only with Series 2000 arms and brace sets, not interchangeable with the Series 1000 or any other MECO rack series.

Choosing the Right Model:

The model number encodes the height and base width. The prefix 2DU indicates Series 2000 double-sided. The first two digits indicate the upright height in feet (2DU6 = 6', 2DU8 = 8', up to 2DU20 = 20'). The last two or three digits indicate the base width in inches (59, 83, or 107).

Base width determines compatible arm lengths:

♦ 59" base: compatible with 12", 18", and 24" arms. For shorter reach with narrower loads.

♦ 83" base: compatible with 30" and 36" arms. For medium arm reach on both sides.

♦ 107" base: compatible with 42" and 48" arms. For the longest arm reach in the Series 2000 double-sided system. Note the 107" base width -- confirm aisle clearance and floor space before ordering.

Upright height considerations: The 14', 16', 18', and 20' uprights require forklift or lift equipment for loading and unloading at upper arm levels. For double-sided racks, also account for the combined arm projection on both sides when planning aisle widths. Verify ceiling clearance, sprinkler head heights, and OSHA overhead clearance requirements before ordering uprights above 12'.

To build a starter unit (one complete bay), order two uprights, arms, and a brace set. To extend a row, order one upright per add-on bay plus arms and a brace set. Arms and brace sets are available separately on the MECO Series 2000 components pages.

Where Double-Sided Series 2000 Uprights Are Commonly Used:

♦ Center-aisle high-bay storage: Freestanding double-sided rows in facilities with high ceilings allow forklift access from both sides, maximizing storage density for long heavy materials in open warehouse bays.

♦ Steel service center aisles: Organizing structural steel, large-diameter pipe, and heavy bar stock in double-sided rows positioned along forklift aisles for efficient retrieval from either direction.

♦ Lumber distribution: High-bay double-sided storage for dimensional lumber, engineered beams, and sheet goods in large distribution facilities where single-sided wall-mounted racks are insufficient for the volume.

♦ Expansion of existing double-sided Series 2000 rows: Adding uprights to extend an active row without purchasing a full starter kit when the base system is already in place.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is the MECO Series 2000 Medium-Heavy Duty Double-Sided Cantilever Upright with Base?
The MECO Series 2000 Medium-Heavy Duty Double-Sided Cantilever Upright with Base supports long, bulky, and irregular materials. It is built for warehouses, manufacturing plants, and other industrial storage environments. The double-sided design allows storage on both sides of the upright, improving aisle access. This makes it a practical choice for materials that do not fit standard pallet rack systems.
How does this double-sided cantilever upright help a facility?
This cantilever upright helps move long materials off the floor and into a more organized storage layout. Better organization can improve access, visibility, and daily material handling. The double-sided design also increases usable storage along an aisle. That can help facilities manage space more efficiently without crowding work areas.
What key features should buyers know about this product?
This MECO Series 2000 upright comes in a standard gray finish for a clean industrial appearance. It works with both straight and inclined arms to meet different storage needs. The base is pre-drilled for floor anchoring, which supports stable installation. MECO Series 2000 uprights, arms, and brace sets are compatible only with other Series 2000 components.
What materials are typically stored on this cantilever rack upright?
This double-sided cantilever upright is often used for pipe, tubing, bar stock, and lumber. It also works well for other long products with uneven shapes. These materials are often difficult to store safely on traditional pallet racks. The open design makes loading, unloading, and visual inventory checks easier.
Where is the MECO Series 2000 cantilever upright commonly used?
Facilities use this cantilever rack in stockrooms, production areas, and warehouse storage aisles. It fits operations that handle raw materials, building supplies, or metal stock. Manufacturing plants often use it near work areas for faster material access. Warehouses use it to keep long inventory organized, separated, and easier to retrieve.
Is the manufacturer’s warranty included with my purchase?
Yes. All products sold on CustomMHS.com include the original manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise noted. Custom MHS is an authorized dealer for the brands we carry, which means your purchase is covered by the manufacturer's full factory warranty.
