MECO Series 4000 Heavy Double-Sided Cantilever Uprights with Base for Industrial Storage

These are individual, double-sided uprights and bases for the MECO Series 4000 Heavy-Duty Cantilever Rack system. The price includes the upright column and base only. Cantilever arms and brace sets are sold separately. Use these uprights when building freestanding rows where materials will be stored and accessed from both sides of the rack, the double-sided counterpart to the Series 4000 single-sided upright page.

The wider bases on double-sided uprights support simultaneous arm loading on both sides. The widest base available (130") accommodates 54" and 60" arms on both sides, making the DU Series 4000 the highest-capacity and widest-reach freestanding cantilever configuration in the MECO catalog. Thirty-seven models cover eight heights (6', 8', 10', 12', 14', 15', 16', 18', 20') and up to five base widths per height, with the number of base options decreasing at taller heights. Series 4000 uprights are compatible only with Series 4000 arms and brace sets, not interchangeable with Series 1000, 2000, or any other MECO rack series.

Choosing the Right Model:

The model number encodes the height and base width. The prefix DU indicates Series 4000 double-sided. The first two digits indicate the upright height in feet (DU6 = 6', DU8 = 8', up to DU20 = 20'). The last two or three digits indicate the base width in inches (53, 65, 82, 106, or 130).

Base width determines compatible arm lengths:

♦ 53" base: compatible with 12" and 18" arms. Available at 6' through 12' heights only.

♦ 65" base: compatible with 24" arms at 6' to 12', and with 12", 18", and 24" arms at 14' to 16'. Available at 6' through 16' heights only.

♦ 82" base: compatible with 30" and 36" arms at most heights; also compatible with 12", 18", 24", 30", and 36" arms at 18' and 20'. Available at all height groups.

♦ 106" base: compatible with 42" and 48" arms. Available at all height groups.

♦ 130" base: compatible with 54" and 60" arms on both sides. Available at all height groups. At 130" wide, verify aisle clearance before ordering the combined arm projection on both sides at full 60" arm reach, which reaches 120" (10') of total reach from a single row, plus the upright width.

Base availability by height group:

♦ 6' to 12': All five base widths available (53", 65", 82", 106", 130").

♦ 14' to 16': Four base widths available (65", 82", 106", 130"). The 53" base is not available.

♦ 18' to 20': Three base widths are available (82", 106", 130"). The 53" and 65" bases are not available.

To build a starter unit, order two uprights, arms, and a brace set. To extend a row, order one upright per add-on bay plus arms and a brace set.

Where Double-Sided Series 4000 Uprights Are Commonly Used:

♦ High-capacity center-aisle steel storage: Heavy structural steel, large-diameter pipe, and thick-wall tube in double-sided center-aisle rows where forklift access from both sides and maximum arm reach are required.

♦ High-bay lumber distribution: Tall double-sided rows storing heavy engineered lumber, LVL, glulam, and wide sheet goods from both sides, making use of the 54" and 60" arm reach available only on the 130" base.

♦ Heavy industrial fabrication staging: Organizing oversized raw stock, heavy extrusions, and large-section material in double-sided aisles adjacent to production equipment for efficient two-way access.

♦ Expansion of existing double-sided Series 4000 rows: Adding uprights to extend an active aisle row without purchasing a full starter kit when the Series 4000 system is already installed.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are MECO Series 4000 Heavy Double-Sided Cantilever Uprights with Base?
MECO Series 4000 Heavy Double-Sided Cantilever Uprights with Base support long, bulky, and irregular materials in industrial facilities. They are built for organized storage where standard pallet racks are not a good fit. The double-sided design provides storage space on both sides of the upright. This layout works well in aisles that need high capacity and steady material access.
How do these cantilever uprights help improve facility storage?
These uprights help move long materials into a more structured and accessible storage system. That can reduce floor clutter and improve visibility across storage areas. A double-sided cantilever rack also makes better use of aisle space. Facilities can store more material while keeping products easier to sort and retrieve.
What materials are typically stored on MECO Series 4000 cantilever uprights?
These cantilever uprights are commonly used for pipe, tubing, bar stock, and lumber. They also support other long items with bulky or uneven shapes. Those materials are often difficult to store safely on conventional pallet rack systems. The open design helps operators load and remove stock with fewer handling obstacles.
What key features make the Series 4000 uprights practical for industrial use?
The double-sided configuration increases storage capacity within the same general footprint. Heights from 6 to 20 feet give facilities greater flexibility in rack planning. That range helps match storage equipment to ceiling clearance and floor space. It also allows facilities to support different inventory sizes and changing storage requirements.
Where are MECO Series 4000 Heavy Double-Sided Cantilever Uprights with Base commonly used?
These uprights are often used in warehouses, manufacturing plants, and industrial storage areas. They fit facilities that handle raw materials, building products, or metal stock. Aisle-based layouts benefit from the ability to store material on both sides. That makes the system useful for operations that need organized access and heavier storage capacity.
