When you’re managing a high SKU count but need more usable depth than a 12" unit, the Hallowell 5527-18 Hi-Tech Metal Bin Starter Shelving is built for exactly that scenario, it delivers assigned-location storage with a dense bin layout—so parts are easy to see, easy to find, and fast to pick, even in busy tool cribs and MRO rooms.

This model features 36 total openings, including 32 9" wide x 9" high and 4 9" wide x 12" high. That mixed-height configuration gives you flexibility: lots of small compartments for fasteners and small components, plus a few taller slots for boxed items, repair kits, or kitting supplies.

The 18" depth gives you more front-to-back storage than 12" units, making it a better fit for deeper bins, boxed parts, and higher on-hand quantities—without stepping up to bulk-depth shelving.

It’s a pre-engineered closed bin shelving system with closed back and side panels, keeping contents contained and preventing parts from shifting into neighboring areas or falling out the back. The shelf dividers adjust side-to-side, letting you fine-tune compartment widths, and dividers can be removed or added as your inventory mix changes.

Starter units are complete and freestanding. When you need to expand, adder units connect to starters and share a side panel to form clean, efficient rows
