Why Use This Product
The 30237 was designed for two-bin kanban. Akro-Mils sized it so two bins sit back to back on an 18-inch-deep shelf: the front bin is the working supply, the rear bin is the reserve, and when the front bin empties, it gets refilled or swapped while picking continues from the full one. That makes it one of the simplest ways to set up visual replenishment without software. It is the shortest of the 5-inch-tall bins in the 30 Series, with a 4-7/8 inch interior width that is a little wider than the 30230, so it holds a meaningful quantity of fittings, hardware, or small components in each bin. Rated to 20 pounds and sold in cartons of 12.

Key Features Explained
♦ Built for Two-Bin Kanban: Two 30237s fit back to back on an 18-inch-deep shelf, giving every part number a working bin and a reserve bin in a single shelf location.
♦ Shortest 5-Inch-Tall Bin: At 9-1/4 inches front to back, it is the shortest of the full-height 30 Series bins, for places where the 10-7/8 inch sizes run too long.
♦ 6-Inch-Wide Body: A 4-7/8 inch interior width gives a broad hopper opening for fast hand picks.
♦ Stacks or Hangs: An anti-slide stop keeps stacked bins from creeping forward, and a full-width hanger lip lets the same bin hang from louvered panels, rail racks, and louvered carts.
♦ Autoclavable Polypropylene: The polypropylene colors resist water, rust, corrosion, weak acids, and alkalis, and withstand 250°F. That makes them usable in lab and medical areas where most plastic bins cannot be sanitized.

Best-Fit Use Cases
♦ Lean and Kanban Systems: Two-bin replenishment on 18-inch shelving, with color coding to separate working and reserve bins.
♦ Assembly Cells: Point-of-use stock for high-frequency picks of fittings, hardware, and small subassemblies.
♦ Workstations and Bench Shelving: Full-height storage where a 10-7/8 inch bin would run too deep.
♦ Maintenance and MRO Cribs: Consumables that run out often enough to need a reserve bin behind the active one.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What are Akro-Mils 30-Series Small Parts Plastic Bins used for?

Akro-Mils 30-Series Small Parts Plastic Bins store fasteners, fittings, tools, and other small components. These stackable AkroBins® give each item a dedicated location on shelving, racks, benches, or carts. The open front keeps contents visible and easy to pick during daily work. They are commonly used in warehouses, maintenance rooms, manufacturing cells, stockrooms, and workstations. Their consistent shape helps teams build a repeatable storage system as inventory grows.

How do stackable AkroBins help improve facility organization?

Stackable AkroBins help remove clutter from boxes, drawers, and shared containers. Workers can group similar parts while keeping each SKU separated and labeled. This reduces part mixing, picking errors, and time spent searching for supplies. Bins can be stacked or placed on shelves to use vertical space more efficiently. A clearer layout also makes cycle counts and replenishment checks easier to manage.

What key features should buyers look for in 30-Series AkroBins?

Buyers should look for open-front access, a stackable design, durable plastic construction, and labeled areas. Open fronts allow workers to reach parts without pulling the bin off the shelf. The stackable footprint supports flexible storage on shelving, racks, carts, and workbenches. Labeling each bin helps improve inventory accuracy and supports faster replenishment. These features make the bins useful for high-use storage of small parts.

How can these bins help reduce picking mistakes?

Akro-Mils 30-Series AkroBins help reduce mistakes by giving each part a clear storage location. Workers can see the contents, read the label, and pick from the correct bin. This is useful when similar parts have different sizes, finishes, or part numbers. Separating items also reduces mixing that can happen in open boxes or shared containers. Better organization helps teams pick faster without sacrificing accuracy.

Where are Akro-Mils 30-Series AkroBins commonly used?

These small plastic bins are commonly used in stockrooms, repair areas, assembly lines, and maintenance departments. They work well for hardware, electrical parts, fittings, tools, and production supplies. Facilities also use them on shelving, flow racks, carts, and workstation benches. The bins support point-of-use storage where workers need parts close to the job. They are also useful when inventory needs to scale without changing the storage layout.

Is the manufacturer’s warranty included with my purchase?

Yes. All products sold on CustomMHS.com include the original manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise noted. Custom MHS is an authorized dealer for the brands we carry, which means your purchase is covered by the manufacturer's full factory warranty.
