One thing worth understanding before you order: the capacity rating on a workbench (say, 5,000 lb) is a uniformly distributed load, or UDL, rating. That means it assumes the weight is spread evenly across the whole surface. A vise, a press, or a heavy part sitting in one concentrated spot puts far more stress on that one area than the same weight spread across the bench, and can overstress the top well below the rated capacity. Dynamic forces like hammering, vibration, or an operator leaning hard into a workpiece also exceed the static number a bench is rated for. When your application involves concentrated point loads or heavy impact, size up rather than ordering right at the rated capacity.
