Akro-Mils 4-Inch Plastic Shelf Bins | Uniform Height for Dense Shelf Storage

Akro-Mils 4-inch plastic shelf bins are designed for maximum storage density on shelving where vertical space is limited. At a uniform 4" height across all 13 models, these bins stack more rows per shelf section than taller bins, making them well-suited to shelving systems with closely spaced shelf levels. The open front provides direct access to stored parts without removing the bin. Three lengths (11-5/8", 17-7/8", 23-5/8") and five widths (2-3/4", 4-1/8", 6-5/8", 8-3/8", 11-1/8") cover a broad range of shelf configurations and part sizes.

Compatible dividers subdivide individual bins into multiple compartments, keeping different parts separated within a single bin position. Label holders are available separately for visual identification. Prices are per carton of 6, 12, or 24 bins, depending on the model. 

Selecting the Right Bin:

♦ Size selection, use the outside dimensions to confirm the bin fits the shelf opening and the planned shelf depth. The 11-5/8" and 17-7/8" long models suit shelves with 12" to 18" of usable depth. The 23-5/8" long models suit deeper shelving. Width choices from 2-3/4" to 11-1/8" accommodate a range of part sizes and shelf widths.

♦ 4" uniform height, all 13 bin models are 4" high outside. This consistency allows mixed-size bins to sit flush across a shelf tier and simplifies planning for shelving systems where shelf spacing is set at 4" increments or where multiple bin rows per shelf are the goal.

♦ Shelf bin vs. 30-Series AkroBins, the 30-Series AkroBins range from 3" to 11" high and include many models with deeper dimensions and a wider range of inside volumes. The shelf bin series is optimized for the 4" height and works well on tight shelf spacing. Choose the 30-Series for a wider range of heights and volumes. Choose the shelf bin series when 4" height consistency across a shelf system is the priority.

♦ Divider compatibility by width, the 40120 divider fits the 4-1/8"-wide bins (30120, 30124, 30128). The 40130 divider fits the 6-5/8"-wide bins (30130, 30138, 30164). The 40150 divider fits the 8-3/8"-wide bins (30150, 30158, 30184). The 40170 divider fits the 11-1/8"-wide bins (30170, 30174, 30178). No divider is listed for the narrowest 2-3/4"-wide model (30110). Dividers fit by width and are compatible across all lengths at that width.

♦ Label holders, the 40410 label holder carton (24 per carton) is a separate accessory compatible with these shelf bins. Label holders improve visual identification at the bin face and support part number and inventory labeling without tape or separate label stock.

♦ Carton quantities: the narrowest and shortest models ship 24 per carton. Most mid-size models ship 12 per carton. The widest and longest models ship 6 per carton. Prices are per carton.
