The Akro-Mils 30048 is a ShelfMax hopper front shelf bin measuring 17-7/8" long x 4-1/8" wide x 6" high on the outside, with an inside volume of 280 cubic inches. It is sold in cartons of 8 in blue or clear.
A hopper front bin has a sloped, open front, so you can see and reach the parts without lifting the bin off the shelf. The 6" height is what sets ShelfMax apart. Akro-Mils states it holds up to 85% more than a traditional 4" shelf bin, and its front opening is 3/4" higher than comparable 6" bins. A built-in rear hang lock lets the bin tilt out for complete access, and a rolled ridge and reinforced side ribs add strength when the bin is full.
At 17-7/8" long, the 30048 is sized for 18" deep shelving. It has the same 4-1/8" width as the 30040 but is about 6" longer, which suits longer small parts that would not lie flat in the 11-5/8" bin. It is molded in one piece, is waterproof, and is unaffected by grease or oil. Width dividers (model 40020) are sold separately, and each bin takes up to 7 divider slots to split the bin into smaller compartments.
