Akro-Mils 35195 Plastic Stack-Nest Container, 19-1/2" x 15-1/2" x 13" Tall

The Akro-Mils 35195 is a stack and nest container measuring 19-1/2" long x 15-1/2" wide x 13" tall on the outside, with a rated load of 85 pounds and a volume of 12.93 gallons. It is sold in cartons of six in gray, red or blue.

Stack and nest containers do two jobs. When loaded, they stack on top of each other for storage and transport. When empty, they nest inside one another, so returns, empty storage and backstock take up far less room. The 35195 is rated to 85 pounds per container and 425 pounds of total stacking capacity, which is five times the per-container rating. The stack height is limited by what the bottom container can support, not by the load in any single container.

The space you save from nesting depends on the nest ratio, the number of empty containers that fit in the space of one. Space saved = empties x (1 - 1/ratio), so a higher ratio means a smaller empty footprint. Akro-Mils does not publish a nest ratio for the 35195. The 19-1/2" x 15-1/2" footprint and 13" height suit parts, tools and packed goods that need more depth than the 35190 (10" tall). A lid is sold separately.

Selecting the Right Stack and Nest Container
◆ Weight, check that your heaviest load stays at or under 85 pounds per container, and that the bottom container in a stack can carry the stack above it, up to 425 pounds total
◆ Fit, compare your parts to the 15-1/2" x 14-1/2" x 12-7/8" inside top dimensions, since the inside is smaller than the outside
◆ Empty storage, if you return or store empties often, nesting is the main benefit, so confirm the space you need before ordering
◆ Lids, a snap-on lid is sold separately, so add one if the contents need covering or a stack needs a flat top
◆ Color, gray, red and blue let you separate products, departments or work stages at a glance
◆ Temperature, the distributor listing rates the container for about -5 to 140 F, so check this against your environment
