Strong Hold Combination Steel Storage Cabinets | Wardrobe Section and Heavy-Duty Shelves

Strong Hold combination steel storage cabinets put a wardrobe section and a heavy-duty shelving section into a single all-welded 12-gauge steel unit secured by a 3-point locking system. The wardrobe side includes a hanger shelf for coats, uniforms, and PPE. The shelving side provides adjustable heavy-duty shelves for tools, supplies, and equipment. Welded 6" legs support the unit and allow repositioning by forklift or pallet jack.

This is the same combination format as the Parent Metal and Pucel combination cabinets, but built to the 12-gauge spec and premium hardware standards of the Strong Hold cabinet lineup. Four widths (36", 48", 60", 72"), two heights (66" and 78"), and all models 24" deep. Shelf capacity varies by width and is noted for each model below.

♦ 55-W-244: 60" wide x 24" deep x 66" high. Wardrobe section with hanger shelf. 4 shelves. 975 pounds per shelf. 3-point locking. 6" welded legs. 

♦ 56-W-245: 60" wide x 24" deep x 78" high. Wardrobe section with hanger shelf. 5 shelves. 975 pounds per shelf. 3-point locking. 6" welded legs.

Selecting the Right Cabinet:

♦ Width and shelf capacity: The 36"-wide model carries the highest shelf capacity in the lineup at 1,150 pounds per shelf and is only available at 78" height. The 48"-wide models carry 700 pounds per shelf across both heights. The 60"-wide models carry 975 pounds per shelf across both heights. The 72"-wide model carries 850 pounds per shelf and is only available at 78" height.

♦ Height, 66" vs. 78": The 66"-high models (45-W-244 and 55-W-244) include 4 shelves. The 78"-high models include 5 shelves. The 66" format suits positions with lower overhead clearance or where a shorter cabinet is preferred. The 78" models provide full-height floor-standing capacity. Verify pricing on both heights within each width before selecting.

♦ 6" welded legs vs. legless combination cabinets: Unlike the Parent Metal combination cabinet (which is legless), the Strong Hold combination sits on 6" welded legs. This raises the overall assembly height by 6" above the nominal cabinet height and allows the unit to be moved by forklift or pallet jack -- a meaningful advantage in facilities where cabinets are repositioned periodically.

♦ Strong Hold vs. Parent Metal vs. Pucel combination: The Strong Hold combination uses heavier 12-gauge construction, 6" welded legs, and higher per-shelf capacity than the Parent Metal 200-pound and 400-pound tiers. The Pucel wardrobe cabinet adds optional drawers to the shelving section, which the Strong Hold does not. Choose the Strong Hold for maximum shelf capacity in the combination format; choose the Pucel for a combination format with organized drawer storage in addition to shelves.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Production Floor PPE and Tool Stations: Operators are required to don specific PPE at the work position, store it in the wardrobe section, and keep position-specific heavy tooling or fixtures in the shelving section, in a cabinet that withstands the daily handling and loading of an active production environment.

♦ Warehouse and Shipping Receiving Positions: Workers storing high-visibility vests, gloves, and safety footwear in the wardrobe section alongside the heavy-duty hand tools and equipment used in receiving operations benefit from the higher shelf capacity and all-welded durability of the Strong Hold format over lighter combination alternatives.

♦ Multi-Shift Environments with Accountability Requirements: The 3-point locking system and forklift-repositionable leg configuration make these cabinets suitable for environments where cabinet placement changes periodically and access control across shifts is required.
