WireCrafters 3-Walls Style 840 Woven Wire Security Fencing

The WireCrafters 3-Walls Style 840 Woven Wire Security Fencing is versatile, designed to either align with existing walls or stand freely as needed. This system offers options for sliding or hinged doors, with or without a ceiling, allowing for tailored security solutions. It's open, but a secure wire partition design ensures controlled access while maintaining clear visibility of the property. The mesh partitions allow you to view stored items and the property while keeping them secure, leverage existing lighting, and promote free circulation for HVAC and fire suppression systems.

Customizable to fit rooms of any size or height, these wire partition systems suit a variety of applications. Commonly used in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities, they enclose tool cribs, maintenance cages, machine guarding, and general inventory storage areas. Additionally, these partitions are used in data centers to secure and separate computer servers, divide colocation facilities, and in law enforcement for temporary holding cells and evidence storage. The DEA also uses these partitions for secure storage of drugs and pharmaceuticals.

Wire is 10 gauge in a 2" x 1" woven pattern, with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" angle frame. All panels and posts are tagged with numbers for easy assembly. Standard 3/8" assembly hardware is the heaviest in the industry, and all necessary erection hardware, including concrete floor anchors, is included. Standard color is Gray.

When to Use 2" x 1" Woven Wire Over 2" x 2" Welded Wire.

Both mesh types stop casual access, but they fail differently and protect against different threats. The first question is whether the barrier is doing security work or separation work.

Woven mesh is interlocked at every crossing rather than fused. Cutting one strand does not open a hole, because the surrounding weave still holds the pattern in place. Welded mesh relies on the weld at each intersection, so breaking a few welds can open a gap faster. The 2" x 1" opening also matters as much as the wire itself. A 1-inch dimension blocks a hand and forearm, preventing access to a latch, a lock, or inventory sitting just inside the line. A 2" x 2" opening does not.

Choose 2" x 1" woven wire when:

♦ The enclosure holds high-value, portable, or controlled items such as tools, electronics, precious metals, ammunition, or regulated inventory.
♦ Reach-through is a realistic risk, meaning stock is stored close to the fence line, or the lock is within arm's reach of the outside.
♦ Internal theft is the concern being solved, not just keeping honest people out.
♦ An auditor, insurance carrier, customer contract, or regulatory requirement specifies a security-rated enclosure.
♦ The cage sits in a forklift or cart traffic lane, where impact will eventually hit the panels.
♦ The build is a full-height tool crib at 8, 10, or 12 feet, or includes a ceiling.

Where Commonly Used:

♦ Warehouses and Distribution Centers, tool cribs, and maintenance cages secure equipment and supplies.
♦ Manufacturing Facilities, machine guarding, and general inventory storage use wire partitions for controlled access.
♦ Data Centers: Wire partitions provide security and separation for servers and colocation spaces.
♦ Law Enforcement and DEA Facilities, temporary holding cells, and secure drug storage use these partitions for compliant enclosures.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Should I use 2" x 1" woven wire or 2" x 2" welded wire?
Use 2" x 1" woven wire when the enclosure protects high-value, portable, or controlled inventory. Woven mesh is interlocked rather than fused, so cutting a single strand does not open a hole, and the 1-inch opening blocks a hand from reaching through to a lock or to stock stored near the fence line. Use 2" x 2" welded wire when the barrier is separating space rather than securing valuables, such as walling off a storage room or a contractor area. Welded panels install quickly and cost less, but the larger opening allows reach-through and the joints depend on welds. Many facilities run welded wire on the general perimeter and build a woven wire cage inside it for the items that carry real exposure.
What is a 3-wall wire partition?
A 3-wall Style 840 partition uses three runs of woven wire panel, so the enclosure needs only one existing building wall to close the fourth side. It can also stand free where no wall is available. The system is offered with sliding or hinged doors, and with or without a ceiling. CustomMHS carries the full line of WireCrafters wire partitions, backed by the manufacturer's warranty.
When should I add a ceiling?
A ceiling closes the top of the enclosure, which matters when the area sits under open rack, a mezzanine, or anywhere someone could reach or climb in from above. Without it, an enclosure with secure walls and a locked door still has an open top. If the building structure bounds the space overhead and nothing provides access from above, the open configuration is usually sufficient.
Should I choose a hinged or sliding door?
Floor space in front of the opening decides it on smaller footprints, since a hinged door needs clear swing room that a tight aisle does not have. On very large enclosures, roughly 22 feet and above, sliding is the only option offered, because a door wide enough to serve that footprint would need an impractical arc of clear floor. Sliding doors move along the partition face instead, using no swing room at all.
How does 3-wall fencing help your facility?
Using one existing wall rather than building all four sides keeps material cost and installation time lower than a fully enclosed cage while still producing a controlled-access area. Wire construction preserves what solid walls would block: existing overhead lighting reaches inside, HVAC and fire suppression circulate freely, and contents stay visible for supervision and inventory checks without unlocking the door. Panels and posts arrive tagged with numbers for assembly, and all erection hardware, including concrete floor anchors, is included, so nothing has to be sourced separately at install.

How difficult is installation?
The panels bolt together cleanly, so most maintenance teams install the system without special tools or equipment. Panels attach to posts using standard hand tools. Because the same panel sizes work for both walls and ceilings, panels stack to reach the required height, which keeps the parts list simple and the enclosure consistent from one section to the next.
