WireCrafters 4-Walls Style 840 Woven Wire Security Fencing

The WireCrafters 4-Walls Style 840 Woven Wire Security Fencing is available with sliding or hinged door options and can be configured with or without a ceiling to suit various security needs. This secure yet open wire partition design allows controlled access to properties while keeping them visible. The mesh partitions allow viewing of the property and stored items, enhancing security while using existing lighting and allowing free circulation of HVAC and fire suppression systems. These wire partition systems can be custom-fitted to rooms of any size or height, offering a versatile solution for a range of applications.

Widely used in warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities, WireCrafters partitions are ideal for enclosing tool cribs, maintenance cages, machine guarding, and general inventory storage areas. These partitions also serve critical functions in data centers, where they provide security and separation for computer servers, divide colocation facilities, and, in law enforcement, provide temporary holding cells and evidence storage. The DEA also relies on these partitions for secure storage of drugs and pharmaceuticals.

Wire is 10 gauge in a 2" x 1" woven pattern, with a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" x 1/8" angle frame. All panels and posts are numbered for easy assembly. Standard 3/8" assembly hardware is the heaviest in the industry, and all necessary erection hardware, including concrete floor anchors, is included. Standard color is Gray.

When to Use 2" x 1" Woven Wire Over 2" x 2" Welded Wire

Both mesh types stop casual access, but they fail differently and protect against different threats. The first question is whether the barrier is doing security work or separation work.

Woven mesh is interlocked at every crossing rather than fused. Cutting one strand does not open a hole, because the surrounding weave still holds the pattern in place. Welded mesh relies on the weld at each intersection, so breaking a few welds can open a gap faster. The 2" x 1" opening also matters as much as the wire itself. A 1-inch dimension blocks a hand and forearm, preventing access to a latch, a lock, or inventory sitting just inside the line. A 2" x 2" opening does not.

Choose 2" x 1" woven wire when:

♦ The enclosure holds high-value, portable, or controlled items such as tools, electronics, precious metals, ammunition, or regulated inventory.
♦ Reach-through is a realistic risk, meaning stock is stored close to the fence line, or the lock is within arm's reach of the outside.
♦ Internal theft is the concern being solved, not just keeping honest people out.
♦ An auditor, insurance carrier, customer contract, or regulatory requirement specifies a security-rated enclosure.
♦ The cage sits in a forklift or cart traffic lane, where impact will eventually hit the panels.
♦ The build is a full-height tool crib at 8, 10, or 12 feet, or includes a ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Should I use 2" x 1" woven wire or 2" x 2" welded wire?
Use 2" x 1" woven wire when the enclosure protects high-value, portable, or controlled inventory. Woven mesh is interlocked rather than fused, so cutting a single strand does not open a hole, and the 1-inch opening blocks a hand from reaching through to a lock or to stock stored near the fence line. Use 2" x 2" welded wire when the barrier is separating space rather than securing valuables, such as walling off a storage room or a contractor area. Welded panels install quickly and cost less, but the larger opening allows reach-through and the joints depend on welds. Many facilities run welded wire on the general perimeter and build a woven wire cage inside it for the items that carry real exposure.

A 4-wall Style 840 partition is a fully enclosed cage built entirely from woven wire panels, so it needs no existing building walls at all. That makes it the configuration for securing an area in open floor space rather than in a corner or against a wall. It can be ordered with or without a ceiling. CustomMHS carries the full line of WireCrafters wire partitions, backed by the manufacturer's warranty.
When do I need all four walls rather than fewer?
Count the usable building walls at the location. If the area sits in the middle of a warehouse floor, none of them help, and a 4-wall cage is the only configuration that works. It is also the right choice when the adjacent wall exists but is not something you want to rely on for security, such as a partition wall or an exterior door. If you have solid walls on one, two, or three sides, those configurations cost less.
Should I order a ceiling?
A ceiling closes the top of the cage, which matters more on a 4-wall enclosure than any other configuration. A free-standing cage in open floor space often sits near rack, mezzanines, or catwalks where the top is reachable, and secure walls with an open top do not fully control access. If the cage stores high-value inventory or controlled items, the ceiling is worth including.
How does 4-wall fencing help your facility?
A fully enclosed cage gives complete access control over the highest-value inventory, tooling, and controlled items without dedicating a room to it, so a secure area can go wherever the floor plan allows rather than where the building has walls. Wire construction preserves what a built room would take away: existing overhead lighting reaches inside, HVAC and fire suppression circulate freely, and contents stay visible for supervision and inventory checks without opening the door. All panels and posts arrive numbered for assembly, and every piece of erection hardware including concrete floor anchors is included.

How difficult is installation?
The panels bolt together cleanly, so most maintenance teams install the system without special tools or equipment. Panels attach to posts using standard hand tools. Because the same panel sizes work for both walls and ceilings, panels stack to reach the required height, which keeps the parts list simple and the enclosure consistent from one section to the next.
